A new spinoff series called The Boys: Mexico has been officially announced by Amazon, expanding the universe of the ultraviolet superhero series. The project has Diego Luna, known for his role in Andor, attached as the leading man. The original series debuted on Prime Video four years ago and has become a blockbuster hit, leading to multiple spinoffs despite being only three seasons in and with Season 4 on the horizon.
Diabolical, an animated series of shorts, led the way, followed by this year's Gen V, a show featuring a fresh group of younger characters with significant implications for the interconnected story. The trend is poised to persist as the expansion carries on. Up next is The Boys: Mexico, with the new spinoff's confirmation initially announced by Deadline on November 28th.
The latest The Boys spinoff on Disney+ has Diego Luna on board.
The project has already secured the involvement of some prominent figures. Headlining the cast is Diego Luna, known for his recent role in Andor, and alongside him is Gael García Bernal, familiar to audiences from Marvel’s Werewolf by Night. While both seasoned actors have not been officially confirmed for on-screen appearances at this early stage.
Their level of involvement is uncertain for now, but according to Deadline sources, they are set to take on executive producer roles with the possibility of some minor acting roles. However, they will not be main characters. Also joining the project is Blue Beetle writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, who is currently working on the scripts. The spinoff is dedicated to casting primarily Mexican talent and plans to film mostly in Mexico.
Prime VideoGen V appears to be just the start for more live-action spinoffs in The Boys universe. As it’s still clearly in pre-production, it could be a few years until The Boys: Mexico hits Prime Video, so it’s unclear just how this particular series may integrate with the broader universe, if at all.
As several spinoffs are in progress and the mainline series prepares for its highly-anticipated fourth season, The Boys IP is currently at its peak popularity. Stay tuned here for the latest updates on the series as new details become available.

As a Gen Z fan, I am incredibly excited about the upcoming spinoff series, "The Boys: Mexico." The original series has been a huge hit, and I can't wait to see what the new show will bring. I'm especially excited to see Diego Luna in the leading role. He's a talented actor, and I think he'll be perfect for this role.
I'm also excited about the fact that the show will be filmed primarily in Mexico. This will give it a unique flavor and help it stand out from the original series. I'm also curious to see how the show will integrate with the broader "The Boys" universe. Will it be a standalone story, or will it tie in with the events of the main series? Either way, I'm sure it will be a great show, and I can't wait to see it.
