Universal and Blumhouse are teaming up once again to bring audiences a highly anticipated sequel to the successful horror film The Black Phone. According to Variety, both companies have high hopes for this project, aiming to establish a chilling new franchise. Fans can mark their calendars as the sequel is scheduled to premiere in June 2025.

In the original film, Ethan Hawke captivated audiences with his portrayal of the menacing child killer known as the Grabber, while Mason Thames delivered a captivating performance as Finney, a 13-year-old boy who falls victim to the Grabber's sinister ways. Trapped in a soundproof basement, Finney's hopeless situation takes an unexpected turn when a disconnected telephone begins to ring.

When Finney picks up the phone, he discovers his newfound ability to communicate with the spirits of the Grabber's murder victims. These ghostly figures become Finney's mentors, teaching him the necessary skills to survive and fight back against the Grabber, ultimately enabling him to escape and return home.

Doctor Strange and Sinister's Scott Derrickson directed and co-wrote this captivating film, partnering with Jason Blum from Blumhouse and C. Robert Cargill as producers.
