Carson Daly and his wife, Siri Pinter, enjoy sleeping in separate rooms a few nights a week.

Daly, 50, shared with People at the Today show’s solar eclipse watch event at The American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Monday, April 8, that their goal is to stay together.

"We want to do whatever it takes to maintain our relationship until the end," Daly explained.

Daly, who tied the knot with Pinter in 2015, shared with the outlet that they are committed to keeping their love alive by practicing a "sleep divorce."

According to Daly, this arrangement has worked well for them. They don't do it every night, but a few days a week, especially when he wants to catch a late-night Islanders hockey game, he heads to the guest room while she goes upstairs to read or watch a show.

Daly insists that sticking to separate sleeping areas "takes a lot of attention out and it works." He highly recommends sleep divorce.

Since 2019, Daly and the Siriously Delicious author have been sleeping apart. This decision was made when Pinter was pregnant with their fourth child, daughter Goldie Patricia. Daly mentioned that his sleep apnea, which causes snoring, played a role in the choice. The couple also has three other children: Jackson, 14, Etta, 11, and London, 9.

"It was tough for both of us because we're both on the larger side, especially when my wife was in her third trimester of pregnancy. On top of that, I have sleep apnea, which I'm sure is very attractive to the ladies out there," Daly shared with People in 2020. "She couldn't get comfortable, so we were like those couples in commercials, kicking each other and just not getting any sleep."

Daly remembered the couple's decision to divorce as being easy. He jokingly said, "We just shook hands like, 'I love you, but it’s time to sleep divorce. It’ll be the best thing for all of us.'"

After moving to California to host The Voice, Daly had to wake up at 3 a.m. to film his appearances on Today. This meant sacrificing sleep with his wife and newborn.

He humorously mentioned, “We’re still sleep divorced, but for different reasons. I don’t know if we’ll ever sleep together again.”

Despite sleeping in separate beds, the couple's love for each other has remained strong over the years. To celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary in 2021, Pinter took to Instagram.

In her post, she wrote, "Six years + I can’t even remember how many more… that’s because life with you and our family has felt like forever. I can’t even remember a before. I love you @carsondaly… Happy Anniversary!"

Carson Daly's "sleep divorce" arrangement with his wife, Siri Pinter, highlights the importance of prioritizing sleep in maintaining a healthy relationship. By choosing to sleep in separate rooms a few nights a week, Daly and Pinter have found a solution that allows them to address individual sleep needs while preserving their bond. Daly emphasizes that this strategy has "taken a lot of attention out" of their relationship and has contributed to its success.

While sleep divorce may not be suitable for all couples, it can be a valuable option for those facing sleep-related challenges. Daly's experience with sleep apnea and Pinter's discomfort during pregnancy are common issues that can disrupt sleep and create tension between partners. By addressing these concerns head-on and exploring alternative sleeping arrangements, couples can find ways to improve their sleep quality and strengthen their relationship.
