Amidst her participation in Dancing With the Stars, Charity Lawson is managing to prioritize thoughts of her impending nuptials with fiancé Dotun Olubeko - albeit in the preliminary phases.
"We haven't begun the process of planning and implementing our plans. However, we have started discussing potential dates," shared the 27-year-old Bachelorette of season 20 with We during the exclusive taping of Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday, October 3. "We are considering the years 2025 or possibly 2026. Therefore, we kindly request another year."
Lawson further mentioned that she and Olubeko, aged 31, are currently focused on savoring the initial stages of their engagement, but also aim to avoid a lengthy wait.
The couple became engaged during the season finale of The Bachelorette, which aired on August 21. During the After the Final Rose special, Olubeko expressed his love for her, stating that words alone cannot describe how he feels. He emphasized that she is everything to him and has only become more important since filming ended. He further stated that he has never been more certain about anything in his life and is eager to continue moving forward.
As for Lawson, she mentioned at the time that she and her fiancé have intentions of getting married sooner rather than later but want to take their time. She added that they are simply enjoying this phase of their lives.
Despite Lawson's busy schedule due to DWTS, she mentioned to Us on Tuesday that she and Olubeko still manage to prioritize date nights. "Last Thursday, we decided to go to a comedy club for our date," she revealed. "He's a huge fan of comedy, and I honestly had the most incredible time. I couldn't stop laughing. It was so fantastic!"
They are also avidly watching The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, both of which premiered last week. When asked if she knows whether any of her friends in Paradise found love, Lawson teasingly said, "Of course I do, but it's a secret for now."

Meanwhile, Lawson is thriving on DWTS, where she and her partner Artem Chigvintsev achieved the highest score of the evening on the season premiere. (During the Tuesday episode, Ezra Sosa substituted for Chigvintsev, 41, who tested positive for COVID-19.)
The demanding schedule of DWTS has put Bachelor Nation relationships to the test in the past. However, Lawson reassured Us in August that she and Olubeko are not worried. "We have discussed it and it's something I didn't anticipate happening, but he is incredibly supportive, which I admire," she explained. "He is my biggest fan, which is wonderful to have. So, he will be here with me in L.A. as we tackle this together. He won't be the one on the dance floor, but he will be with me in spirit."
