How to get the Index of the Scribe from Leywise in Remnant 2: The Awakened King
To obtain the Index of the Scribe in Remnant 2: The Awakened King, you will need to acquire the Misplaced Memoir quest item, which must then be delivered to Leywise. You will encounter Leywise early on during the start of your DLC adventure. After spawning in the Forlorn Coast, make your way to the initial sewer area adjacent to the docks where you will find Leywise.
Leywise offers a brief introduction of himself and also has a selection of items for sale. Among these items is the Atonement Fold, a ring that causes your character to bleed but also grants a 10% increase in critical hit chance.
Leywise's inventory is quite limited.
Misplaced Memoir location
We discovered the Misplaced Memoir in the back alley beyond the entrance to the palace. We reached this area much later in our Awakened King DLC playthrough. You can refer to the map below for the exact location:
After extensively exploring the majority of the Forlorn Coast, we stumbled upon the Misplaced Memoir. It's worth mentioning that procedural generation and unpredictability are factors to consider, but let me elaborate on our journey:
Starting off in the initial zone of the Forlorn Coast, we proceeded into the Great Sewers dungeon where we bravely defeated the formidable Bloat King miniboss.
Afterward, we ventured towards a different section of the desolate shoreline called the Drowned Wen. Pushing further, we discovered the dockyards which granted us access to the coveted Ritualist class. Finally, our journey led us to the somber expanse of the Mournful Promenade.
Unfortunately, the bridge connecting us to the palace had been destroyed, forcing us to descend via a ladder that wound its way around the cliffside. This descent eventually brought us to a checkpoint, although it was not designated as a regular fast travel marker.
Index of the Scribe effects
Now that the Nobleman elite has been taken care of and the palace ruins have been explored, it's time to focus on obtaining the Index of the Scribe in Remnant 2: The Awakened King. Head back to Leywise's location in the initial sewers area and with the Misplaced Memoir in your possession. You'll find a large wooden door at the palace yards that can be unlocked, leading you back down to the sewers.
By delivering the quest item to Leywise, you will receive the Index of the Scribe, an amulet that enhances your mod and skill weak spot damage by an impressive 35%.
The Index of the Scribe significantly increases your DPS when you can precisely target and strike enemy weak spots. This amulet offers a substantial damage boost, particularly if you can consistently hit weak spots with precision. Remember to keep an eye out for other rewards, such as the Nimue decisions/rewards and the Monarch weapon.
