Ochaco Uraraka holds significant importance as a side character in My Hero Academia. While she has played a noteworthy role in shaping the plot, many believe that she and other female characters have been underutilized. Currently, in the Final War arc, the author, Horikoshi, is striving to give justice to all his characters.
To give credit where it's due, Horikoshi has been doing a commendable job. One particular battle that stood out was the clash between Toga and Ochaco Uraraka. This fight not only had immense emotional value but also showcased incredible power-ups, including the awakening of Ochaco Uraraka's Zero Gravity Quirk.
Ochaco's Zero Gravity Quirk
In the world of My Hero Academia, Ochaco possesses a unique and useful ability called Zero Gravity. With a simple touch of her fingertips, she can negate the gravitational pull of any object, causing it to float and defy the Earth's gravity. This power, known as a Quirk, is incredibly powerful but does have its limitations. In the past, Ochaco could only use her Zero Gravity Quirk on objects weighing up to three tons.
However, mastering this extraordinary ability was no easy task for Ochaco. While she was born with the Quirk, she had to put in extensive training to harness and control it. One of the challenges she faced was dealing with the nauseating side effects that came with levitating objects. The strain on her body increased as she lifted more and heavier objects simultaneously, making it harder for her to maintain control. Nonetheless, Ochaco is aware of this weakness and has continuously dedicated herself to training and improving her ability. By the Final War Saga, she becomes one of the most skilled and proficient Quirk users in the entire series, although unfortunately, fans did not have the opportunity to witness much of her prowess.
How Ochaco Awakened Her Quirk
In the Final War Saga, Ochaco unexpectedly engaged in a combat against Toga. Initially considered uninteresting due to the lack of characterization for Ochaco, this fight turned out to be astonishing, greatly appreciated by all fans. Toga, a remarkably powerful villain, possesses the ability to mimic others and utilize their Quirks by consuming their blood.
She could assume the form of Twice and utilize his powers to create chaos on the battlefield. Moreover, she could multiply infinitely using Twice's abilities, greatly disadvantageous for the Heroes and completely altering the course of the battle. Surprisingly, despite struggling throughout most of the fight, Ochaco Uraraka courageously faced Toga alone. After a heartfelt conversation with Toga, she unexpectedly awakened her own Quirk.
In a time of desperate urgency to convey her emotions to Toga and simultaneously protect her loved ones, Uraraka accomplished the astonishing awakening of her Quirk. This remarkable feat surpassed any previous limits she had faced in the story, as she bravely continued to press forward despite being stabbed and enduring severe beatings. It was precisely these extraordinary circumstances that triggered the awakening of her Zero Gravity Quirk.
Zero Gravity's Quirk Awakening
Zero Gravity is an inherently perilous Quirk on its own. This fact has been substantiated through the story on numerous occasions, and despite Ochaco's intention to utilize it in a secure manner, it is undeniable that this Quirk possesses enormous power. Ochaco firmly believes that Heroes should support and aid others rather than inflict harm upon them, which is why she adamantly objects to employing Zero Gravity in dangerous ways. However, when Toga harnessed this ability by consuming Ochaco's blood, she unveiled to fans the truly terrifying potential of Zero Gravity. By rendering her adversaries weightless and subsequently hurtling them to their demise from staggering heights, this Quirk has the capacity to kill instantaneously.
When it comes to Zero Gravity Awakening, the possibilities are limitless. With this power, Uraraka can effortlessly make anything or anyone float in mid-air, without the need for physical contact. An impressive display of her ability was witnessed when she utilized it against Sad Man's Legion, Toga's formidable technique. Uraraka successfully levitated the clones without laying a hand on them, proving that she had surpassed her previous weight limit of 3 tons.
Now, Uraraka has further honed her Quirk, enabling her to effortlessly lift significantly heavier objects and keep them suspended in mid-air for as long as desired. Undoubtedly, this upgraded ability has catapulted her to one of the most powerful characters in My Hero Academia. It is worth mentioning that Uraraka still aims to use her power for non-dangerous purposes. However, if the situation calls for it, she possesses the unthinkable capability of swiftly and effortlessly dispatching even the most formidable villains by simply sending them hurtling towards their demise without ever laying a finger on them.
How Strong Is Ochaco?
Following her Quirk Awakening, Ochaco Uraraka has become one of the most formidable characters in the story. Although she may not possess the same level of strength as All Might or All For One, she is revered as one of the top Heroes at U.A. High School. Unlike every character in My Hero Academia, Ochaco has undergone Quirk Awakening, highlighting her exceptional fighting skills. Throughout the war, Ochaco has increased her abilities significantly. She has showcased incredible endurance and an unwavering determination to fight. Ochaco has effortlessly kept pace with the dangerous Toga on numerous occasions.
Having undergone Quirk Awakening, Ochaco possesses greater strength than Toga and could potentially defeat her. However, one of Ochaco's greatest strengths lies in her compassionate heart. She can discern who needs assistance and who does not. Her intention is to save as many people as she can, including troubled individuals like Toga. With her powers at their peak, Ochaco is guaranteed to be one of the most exceptional fighters in the My Hero Academia universe, alongside esteemed heroes like Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki. What is truly awe-inspiring is that she still has ample room to grow. If she continues to develop her abilities, she will undoubtedly become one of My Hero Academia's most revered heroes—a prospect that fans eagerly anticipate.
