Unveiling the Secret to Road Crafting
Enshrouded, a game revered for its exceptional base building mechanic, offers players the opportunity to meticulously design their voxel-based abodes. However, the process of landscaping, particularly creating roads, poses a unique challenge for players seeking to seamlessly connect their structures.

While the game provides roads between major areas, the ability to pave custom paths is not readily available through conventional means. If you're eager to link your buildings within your base, fret not! There's a clever workaround that allows you to fashion your very own dirt roads right at home.
The Improvised Dirt Road Trick
As of the current build, the options for road construction in Enshrouded's early access are somewhat limited, prompting players to employ a bit of ingenuity in creating their desired roads. To craft a simple dirt road, you'll need a Workbench, Dirt Road Blocks, and a Rake.
To begin, unlock the crafting recipe for a basic Rake by crafting a Workbench and gathering Wood Logs, String, and Stone. If you encounter difficulty in finding the Rake recipe, consider joining a Public Game and crafting one from a Workbench within that realm.
After acquiring the Rake, it's time to gather some Dirt Blocks. These can be unearthed from grassless dirt scattered across the world, with plentiful mounds found in the town of Morwenna, situated to the east of the Cinder Vault. For added convenience, consider placing a Flame Altar near Morwenna to facilitate swift travel to and from the town.
Once you have the necessary blocks and tools, return to your base, equip your Construction Hammer, and enter Building Mode. Select either the Terrain or 1M terrain blocks, then position the Dirt Road Blocks in your desired location. Next, utilize the Rake to flatten the surrounding terrain, transforming the grassy ground into primitive, dirt roads. Remember to maintain pressure on the rake button as you maneuver.
Expanding your Dirt Road Blocks through raking won't deplete additional resources. However, this method can be a bit finicky. If the rake ceases to extend your dirt road, place another block or utilize a Pickaxe to clear the grassy ground before resuming the raking process. Repeat these steps until your road is fully formed. This ingenious trick can also be used to extend Embervale's primary cobblestone road into your domain.
The Benefits of Crafted Roads
The roads you create not only enhance the connectivity of your base but also bestow you with the On The Road buff, reducing the stamina cost of sprinting. However, it's important to note that block placement and terrain flattening are restricted to the area encompassed by a Flame Altar. If you wish to terraform areas beyond your base, you'll need to expand your Flame Altar's range or temporarily install an altar near your desired construction site.
