Speculations and Confusion
Ever since Arkane Studios announced that it was working on Marvel's Blade, many fans have come up with their speculations regarding the title. While details are still scarce, the hype for the game's development is already positive because of Arkane's stellar work on the Dishonored series.
Arkane Studios' initial announcement during The Game Awards 2023 caused a bit of confusion because of how limited the trailer and information were. A few news outlets assumed that Marvel's Blade might be exclusive to Microsoft's platforms because Arkane is technically an Xbox studio. The lack of information has left many people wondering about important details such as target release date, playable platforms, and others.

Rumors and Speculated Release Date
A new rumor has popped up that Marvel's Blade is slated to come out by 2027. This rumor was shared by Jeff Grubb on an episode of the Xbox Era Podcast. Per his statement, Disney and Marvel may have put Blade's target date three years away at the earliest.
While one should take this rumor with a grain of salt, the podcast also discussed the possibility of the game being a launch title for the next generation of Xbox consoles. In terms of the development cycle, the Xbox Era Podcast team mentioned that it was a realistic target. While the assumption was that it would come out on new hardware, the team also speculated that it could still come to Xbox Series X/S, as well.
Anticipation and Expectations
Part of the hype for the game is Marvel's Wolverine and Marvel's Blade are expected to usher in a new era for Marvel games. With Marvel's Spider-Man being a successful franchise, and the two aforementioned games are expected to take off from the pattern it set, expectations are quite high for Marvel's next generation of titles. Not to mention, Xbox users were not able to experience Marvel's Spider-Man due to its exclusivity with Sony.
With Marvel's Blade's list of confirmed details, the hype for the title continues to grow. While 2027 is still far off, there's always a possibility that it could slide closer. However, in that sense, with the amount of content that Arkane has to come up with, it would not be a total surprise if the 2027 estimation could mean the latter part of that year or even a little further. Fans hope that the coming months might help reveal more about what Marvel's Blade's future holds, especially because it was also reported that the title had been in development longer than what the previous trailer implied.
