"Ryan is doing great," Bookout, 32, shared exclusively with We on Monday, April 1. She mentioned that he will soon reach a year of sobriety, which is a significant milestone considering his past struggles with addiction. Bookout expressed her support for him, stating that he is putting in the effort to maintain his sobriety and is on the right track.

Over the weekend, the MTV reality star and her husband, Taylor McKinney, spent time with Edwards and his rumored girlfriend Amanda Conner for an Easter celebration. Joining in on the festivities was Edwards, 36, and Bookout’s 15-year-old son, Bentley.

Bookout shared, “I feel like him and Bentley are in a really good place. All I say is hope and expectations are two different things. I’m still very, very hopeful every day. But I will also say that over the last year, I think expectations have changed a little bit too. He’s doing really well. It was really nice being able to have — for Bentley — all of his family in one spot. It was cool. It was great.”

Currently, Bentley is excelling in high school as he manages his academics, participates in wrestling and baseball, and navigates the process of learning how to drive.

The high school freshman is currently on a break from therapy, but he can always text his therapist if he feels like he needs a session. According to Bookout, he can reach out to his therapist at any time. She believes that he is still very confident in therapy and understands that it's available whenever he needs it. This is the healthiest approach to therapy, especially at his age.

Nearly 15 years after Bentley made his MTV debut on 16 and Pregnant, both Bookout and McKinney remain proud of the child they raised in front of the world.

"Despite facing challenges in his life, especially with Ryan, he has always remained true to himself," said McKinney, the founder of Things That Matter. "Even when he had reasons to act out, he stayed grounded and authentic."

Bookout also shared, "He has a remarkable ability to support and be present for others. Bentley hasn't changed much, just grown a little taller and his voice a little deeper."

While Bentley is well-loved by his family, Bookout still had concerns for him while filming Teen Mom: Family Reunion in Colombia. She joked about worrying what was happening back home while on set with her husband and costars.

"We’re at the stage where we need to trust him to make his own choices and handle the outcomes," she mentioned. "When we were away for the Family Reunion, it hit me that he's just starting high school. We were nervous about leaving him on his own."
