Tee KO 2: Unleashing Creative Chaos with Pantastic Designs - A Jackbox Party Pack 10 Delight

Jackbox Party Pack 10's Tee KO 2 takes the original game to new heights with exciting improvements Although not every idea made it into the launch, this sequel promises an even more thrilling and creative experience for players

Jackbox Party Pack 10 is set to release later this fall, offering fans of the franchise the opportunity to experience five new games. It has become customary for a previous game in the pack to receive a sequel and serve as the centerpiece for developers to build upon, resulting in a robust and cohesive lineup of games. In the upcoming Pack, fans can anticipate the release of Tee K.O. 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the original Tee K.O. which debuted in Jackbox Party Pack 3. The developers wasted no time in recognizing areas for improvement in this sequel, acknowledging that sequels must offer something new and compelling. Game Rant recently interviewed several developers from Jackbox Games, including Tee K.O. 2 director Tim Sniffen and Dodo Re Mi director Brooke Breit, to discuss the contents of the upcoming Party Pack, the enhancements made to Tee K.O. 2, and the significance of sequels within these releases.

Tee K.O. 2 was developed with the intention of preserving the fun elements of the original game and expanding upon them. Notable additions and improvements in Tee K.O. 2 include avatars that represent the history and legacy of Jackbox Party Packs, a wider range of colors, more clothing options like hoodies and tank tops, additional font choices, an enhanced drawing interface inspired by Champ'd Up, and a more engaging final round. Interestingly, one aspect that didn't make it into Tee K.O. 2 was the idea of pants. The team spent some time discussing the possibility, but ultimately decided against it due to design limitations, particularly in terms of placement on the buttocks. This idea has been fondly shelved, and there are no guarantees regarding its inclusion in Tee K.O. 3.

Beyond the placement of the design, another factor that limited the production of these pants was uncertainty about whether companies would be willing to create pants featuring the player designs from Tee K.O. 2. The idea of a "Pants K.O." is amusing in concept at least, as Sniffen jokingly expressed.

The release of Tee K.O. 2 had us wondering about the process behind Jackbox Games' decision to create sequels. This decision is made early on in the development process and serves as the foundation for the other games in the Jackbox Party Pack 10. Each year, Jackbox Games holds a greenlight committee that includes input from company leadership and different departments. The selection of the sequel is based on what the company wants to explore, what hasn't been seen in a while, and what fans may be eager for, among other important considerations. This helps to bring the entire project together, as explained by Breit.

These discussions take place early on in the development process to establish a central theme for the Pack. By deciding on a sequel at that stage, we can ensure that the Pack has a cohesive feel. Our goal is to find different types of games that complement each other well, so determining the sequel helps guide us in generating new ideas.

Please note that this is just one of the five games that will be included in Jackbox Party Pack 10 this year. Fans can also look forward to FixyText, a game where players work together to "fix" a potentially controversial text; Hypnotorious, a theatrical social deduction game where each player must discover their role (or if they don't have one); Dodo Re Mi, the franchise's first music-based rhythm game; and Timejinx, a Jackbox-worthy trivia game based on historical and time-related concepts.
