Vanna White reveals her top choice for a replacement on 'Wheel of Fortune' cohost, naming Maggie Sajak, Pat Sajak's daughter, as the ideal candidate

Vanna White expressed her desire to have someone from the Wheel of Fortune family as her potential replacement in the future. In an interview with E! News, she mentioned that she believes Maggie Sajak would be a suitable replacement if she is unable to be present. Maggie, who is the daughter of Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak and his wife Lesly Brown, has grown up around the show and White is confident in her ability to fill in for her if needed.
"She is not only precious and beautiful, but also incredibly talented. I believe her father's exceptional interviewing skills have greatly influenced her. Pat's charisma has definitely had a positive impact on Maggie. Without a doubt, she brings immense value to our show."
Maggie, who presently holds the role of Wheel of Fortune's social media correspondent, has already showcased her capabilities as the game show's puzzle board operator. She seamlessly filled in for White when she participated in Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in May.
"It was a privilege to stand in for you tonight, @officialvannawhite!" she wrote alongside an Instagram photo of herself and White after her first time hosting. "And congratulations on raising $30,000 for @stjude!" White expressed her praise for Maggie's performance in the comments, saying, "You did an excellent job, Maggie!"
After the news of Pat's retirement from the show after over 40 years as the host, it was reported in June that Sony executives had considered the possibility of "eliminating" White's role. However, an insider told us exclusively that there was no truth to these firing rumors and that negotiations with Vanna were currently underway.
Earlier this year, White negotiated with producers and staff for a higher salary as she reportedly had not received a raise in 18 years.

Additionally, she was unable to participate in the filming of the Teacher's Week episodes in August due to her contraction of COVID-19. Bridgette Donald-Blue, the 2023 California Teacher of the Year, took her place and the episodes were aired from October 2 to October 6.
In recent times, White has secured a two-year contract extension with Sony Pictures Television, ensuring her presence in the series until the 2025-26 season.
Pat will be stepping down from his hosting duties on Wheel of Fortune after season 41 concludes next year. Ryan Seacrest will then take over as the new host. In a press release statement in June, the American Idol host expressed his gratitude and honor in following the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. Seacrest acknowledged the privilege of witnessing Pat and Vanna on television for a remarkable 40 years, bringing joy and familiarity to viewers every night.
Seacrest also praised Pat for his ability to celebrate the contestants and create a comforting atmosphere for audiences at home. He expressed his excitement for the opportunity to learn from Pat during this transition.
