Rami Malek, 42, and Emma Corrin, 27, seem to be growing closer after Malek's reported breakup with his longtime girlfriend Lucy Boynton. Photos obtained by The Sun show Malek and Corrin hanging out on multiple occasions since last month. Following their attendance at a Bruce Springsteen concert together in London on July 8, the pair was seen going out for lunch on Wednesday, August 9, according to the outlet.
Eyewitnesses report that the couple displayed affection and even shared a kiss while dining at the Buoy and Oyster restaurant in Margate, Kent, England. Corrin, famous for her portrayal of Princess Diana on The Crown's fourth season, wore a gray hoodie, while Malek appeared in what seemed like a black hoodie, a white baseball cap, and sunglasses.
Malek's recent outings with Corrin occurred shortly after reports emerged that his five-year relationship with Boynton, 29, had come to an end. Neither Malek nor Boynton has confirmed their split publicly at this time.
We first revealed Malek and Boynton's romantic relationship in April 2018, well before their movie Bohemian Rhapsody hit theaters. Malek portrayed Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic, while Boynton played Mary Austin, Mercury's close friend and former partner.
According to an exclusive source, they first crossed paths while filming Bohemian Rhapsody in London. The source disclosed that Malek is highly smitten with Boynton and frequently travels to visit her in London.
Malek publicly discussed his relationship with Boynton for the first time at the 30th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala in January 2019. During his acceptance speech for the Breakthrough Artist Award, he expressed his gratitude to the actress, acknowledging her as "my ally, my confidant, and my love."
In an exclusive interview with Us magazine later that month, Malek further praised Boynton, describing her as an extraordinarily gifted individual and a source of inspiration.
Malek and Boynton's relationship took a significant turn when they shared a kiss on live television after Malek won the best actor Academy Award for Bohemian Rhapsody at the 2019 Oscars. Malek expressed his admiration for Boynton during his acceptance speech, referring to her as the heart of the film and praising her immense talent. Their public appearances together, spanning from awards shows to vacations and sporting events, continued for several years. Although the exact date of their split remains unknown, Malek was seen getting close with his No Time to Die co-star, Léa Seydoux, in December 2022.
Corrin had a romantic relationship with set designer Ibby Njoya in 2021 before publicly coming out as queer in the same year. They emphasized the importance of visibility in an interview with ITV News' Granada Reports in August 2021, expressing that their personal journey is ongoing and that they have yet to determine where they truly belong within societal binaries.
