Surprising Crossovers: 9 Bosch Stars Who Took on Roles in Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer

WARNING! This article contains spoilers for season 2, part 1 of The Lincoln Lawyer! Despite the inability to have a crossover between Bosch and Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, these two shows are connected through the common actors they share. While one is a police procedural on Prime Video and the other is a legal drama on Netflix, Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer are technically linked because they both originated from books written by Michael Connelly. In the book series set in Los Angeles, lawyer Mickey Haller is the half-brother of Detective Harry Bosch, and they often collaborate on cases. However, due to rights issues, Harry Bosch cannot appear in The Lincoln Lawyer, and Mickey Haller cannot appear in Bosch.

Although the upcoming series of The Lincoln Lawyer, premiering in 2022, cannot directly mention or include the character of Harry Bosch, the show has subtly alluded to Titus Welliver's character. Despite the absence of explicit connections or storyline crossovers, The Lincoln Lawyer incorporates some familiar faces from the series that debuted in 2014 centered around Harry Bosch into Mickey Haller's story, but playing different characters. Up until now, nine actors who appeared in Amazon's Bosch or Bosch: Legacy have been cast in Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, and there is potential for many more to join as the two shows continue in future seasons.

9 Adam J. Harrington

Though not yet seen on-screen until The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, part 2's episodes release on Netflix, Adam J. Harrington portrays Jeff Trammell in Netflix's Mickey Haller drama. Jeff, the enigmatic spouse of Lisa Trammell, was frequently mentioned in The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, part 1 and even had conversations with Mickey over the phone. However, his significant entrance will occur once Lisa's trial progresses in the upcoming episodes on Netflix. It is worth noting that Adam J. Harrington is already intertwined in the unofficial Mickey Haller-Harry Bosch universe, having previously appeared as FBI Agent Jack Brenner in Bosch seasons 6 and 7.

8 Jamie McShane

Jamie McShane, known for his role in The Lincoln Lawyer season 1, has also made appearances in popular shows featuring Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller. In the Netflix series, McShane played Detective Lankford, a pivotal character involved in a major twist in Mickey Haller's cases during the season 1 finale of The Lincoln Lawyer. Prior to this, the actor portrayed Detective Francis Sheehan in Bosch season 4, a former partner of Harry Bosch who becomes a murder suspect.

6 Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine

Chris Browning, known for his role as Teddy Vogel in The Lincoln Lawyer, is a member of the recurring cast. Teddy Vogel is the leader of The Lincoln Lawyer's Road Saints biker gang. Although the first part of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 suggests Cisco is no longer under Teddy Vogel's control, it is likely that the character will make a comeback as the gang continues to rely on Haller's legal expertise. Prior to joining The Lincoln Lawyer, Chris Browning appeared in Bosch season 5, portraying Preston Borders, a rapist and murderer who was apprehended by Harry Bosch and Francis Sheehan in five episodes.

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine portrays Detective Raymond Griggs, a recurring character in The Lincoln Lawyers seasons 1 and 2. Prior to his role as Griggs, Mwine appeared as Craig in Bosch seasons 2 and 3. Given the interconnectedness of the LA legal and police community in The Lincoln Lawyer, it is highly likely that Griggs will continue to make appearances in future seasons of the show on Netflix.

5 Bruce Davidson

While Bruce Davidson only had minor roles in both series, he adds to the roster of actors who play roles in both Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer. In the season 1 finale of The Lincoln Lawyer, Davidson appears as Judge Walter Abrams, presiding over the proceedings where Mickey exposes Detective Lankford, played by Jamie McShane. It remains uncertain whether Davidson will reprise his role as Judge Abrams in the future of The Lincoln Lawyer. However, he has been cast as James Rafferty in Bosch: Legacy season 2, which has yet to receive an official release date on Amazon Freevee.

4 Christine Horn

Christine Horn, a member of the talented group of actors featured in Amazon's Bosch and Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, played significant roles in both series. In Bosch season 5, she portrayed Zazie Little in a recurring role. Later, in The Lincoln Lawyer season 1, Horn appeared as Joanne Giorgetti. Her character in The Lincoln Lawyer was the Deputy District Attorney responsible for prosecuting Eli Wyms' case and also served as the soccer coach for Mickey and Maggie's daughter, Hayley.

3 Hemky Madera

Actor Hemky Madera has played minor roles in both popular TV series based on Michael Connelly's books. Initially cast as F.I.D. Detective Luis Rosa in Bosch season 1 on Prime Video, Madera portrayed an investigator from the Los Angeles Police Department who interviewed Detective Harry Bosch, played by Titus Welliver. Although Hemky Madera has not yet made his debut on Netflix's legal drama, he is set to join the cast of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, part 2 as Agent Felix Vasquez. It is anticipated that Agent Vasquez will appear in two episodes while Mickey continues to defend Lisa Trammell, who is accused of murder.

2 Justene Alpert

Justene Alpert, known for her roles in The Lincoln Lawyer and Bosch, joins the list of actors who have been a part of both shows. In Bosch season 3, she portrayed Marta, a character intricately linked to Harry's investigation of Edward Gunn. Additionally, Alpert made a brief appearance in The Lincoln Lawyer season 1, episode 2, playing the role of Krisha Gold, a yoga instructor who had previously worked with the murder victim Jan Rilz.

1 Bryan Michael Nunez

Unlike other actors who have appeared in both Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer, Bryan Michael Nuñez had a significant role in Bosch before joining the cast of the Netflix legal drama. In Bosch season 7, Nuñez played Pedro Alvarez, a key member of Mickey Peña's gang who played a crucial part in Harry Bosch's arson investigation. Continuing his involvement in both shows, Nuñez also appeared as Officer Doby in episode 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer season 1.
