Rewriting:
In Starfield, there are numerous ways to earn credits, but looting is undoubtedly one of the most efficient methods. While embarking on main story missions or exploring unexplored areas, players will have the opportunity to collect valuable gear and resources, which can later be sold for a considerable profit. Sadly, there is a catch to this.
Similar to many other modern role-playing games, there is a limit to how much players can carry. If this limit is exceeded, the playable character will become encumbered, leading to lack of oxygen, joint pain, and potential health loss if not managed properly. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to increase carrying capacity in Starfield.
How to Increase Carrying Capacity in Starfield
Players can boost their carrying capacity by unlocking the Weight Lifting skill. While the Homesteader or Long Hauler Background automatically grants this skill, other players must invest one skill point in the Physical skill tree to unlock it. By doing so, they will experience a 10-kilogram increase in their total carrying capacity. This makes the Weight Lifting skill an essential choice for those eager to plunder every nook and cranny in Starfield.
How to Carry More Stuff in Starfield
This is just the beginning, however. Similar to other skills in Starfield, the Weight Lifting skill can undergo up to three advancements. Achieving Rank 2 will result in a 25-kilogram increase in carrying capacity, while Ranks 3 and 4 offer boosts of 50 and 100 kilograms respectively. To elevate the skill's rank, players must initially complete a challenge that entails sprinting a certain distance while carrying at least 75% of their maximum carrying capacity. Once accomplished, players can upgrade the skill by spending an additional skill point in the Skills menu.Players can increase their carrying capacity and upgrade their skills, as well as utilize their ships and companions to store more resources. To transfer items to companions, players need to speak to them outside of combat and select the "Let's trade gear" option. They can then navigate to their own inventory and choose the items they want to hand over. To add items to their ship's storage, players simply need to access their inventory while on board the vessel and select the items for transfer. Alternatively, they can interact with the Cargo Hold computer.
Players have the option to sell items stored on their ship to vendors and merchants, as well as utilize these resources for crafting and research purposes from a distance. However, it is important to note that items held by companions cannot be sold or used remotely. Therefore, it is advisable to transfer any companion gear to the ship's inventory after each mission or excursion. Starfield is currently accessible on PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
