On December 7, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate celebrates its fifth anniversary as a massive platform fighting game featuring characters and references from numerous top gaming franchises. To mark the occasion, Nintendo is hosting a special five-day Spirit Event starting today, and new Spirits will be added next month.
The Spirit Event will run until December 12, offering five times the amount of EXP and SP (Spirit Points) along with five extra Snack items for each battle.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has added new characters over the span of five years. In addition, Nintendo has revealed plans for new Spirits to be introduced through four upcoming Spirit Events, starting in January. No details have been provided regarding the themes of the events or the specific Spirits that will be included.
Furthermore, a special "tag-team tournament" event is planned, allowing players to team up with amiibo fighters they have trained. While the dates for the tournament have not yet been announced, Nintendo has confirmed that the Sora Amiibo will be released on February 16, marking the final addition to the playable roster's Amiibo figures.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The game is also bundled with new Nintendo Switch OLED consoles for the holiday season.
