Heather Dubrow revealed her husband Terry Dubrow's "terrifying" health scare.
"Thankfully, he's alright. The best part is that his condition was easily treatable. He had a PFO, which is essentially a heart defect with a hole," shared the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star in an exclusive interview with We on Wednesday, August 9. "If there's a blood clot in the lower extremities that travels upwards, it can pass through the heart's chambers and reach the brain. Luckily, it was a simple fix. It's actually the same condition Hailey Bieber had in 2022."
Heather expressed that the medical emergency on August 3 caught her and Terry, 64, completely off guard.
"It was an incredibly frightening ordeal, and it's something that we would have eventually shared. But to be honest, I'm still in disbelief about the entire incident," admitted the reality star. Heather and Terry have four children together – Max, 19, Nick, 19, Kat, 16, and Ace, 12. "Our son, Nick, was with us that night, and it made for a very eventful evening."
Heather continued, "It's astonishing because just the day before he underwent this aesthetic procedure, you know, this micro-needling thing. [Because he was promoting his show Botched], he was all like, 'Oh, I want to enhance my appearance and look glamorous.' So he didn't resemble himself anyway. That's probably why I didn't notice anything [initially] before the actual incident occurred. But he's discussing it now, and I genuinely want to show respect for the fact that it's his personal experience."

The couple, who tied the knot in 1999, have turned the health scare into a learning experience for their family.
Early intervention is crucial, and Heather emphasized its importance. If you witness someone experiencing slurred speech or disorientation, or if you have a family member displaying these symptoms, it is vital to promptly seek medical attention. Heather stressed that if Terry had experienced a second clot, it could have been fatal, as only one in five people survive such events. She expressed disbelief and fear regarding these statistics.
Providing an update on Terry's condition, Heather shared that he has been recovering well since the operation. She mentioned that he is doing good and feeling stronger and more empowered than ever.
She added with a touch of humor, "By the way, I've planned my emotional breakdown for September 8, right after the RHOC reunion."
"I cannot express enough gratitude to the doctors who provided excellent care for him and his friends," she emphasized. "It's reassuring to know that Terry and I had a protocol in place for unforeseen situations. I would reach out to his intelligent doctor friends whenever he didn't heed my advice, and he would listen to them."
