The official website of the Tadaima, Okaeri anime unveiled the series' first key visual on November 22, 2023, showcasing the Fujiyoshi family. The Boys-Love anime also revealed the series' staff members and announced the decision for the 2024 television and streaming premiere.

Tadaima, Okaeri is a manga series created by mangaka Ichikawa Ichi that first appeared in Omegaverse Project (fusion) in 2015. Since then, the manga has produced four volumes and a side story called Tadaima, Okaeri dj - Oni Taiji!. In September 2023, Studio DEEN announced that an anime adaptation was in the works.

Tadaima, Okaeri announces release window and staff members with new key visual

The official X account of Tadaima, Okaeri anime released the series' inaugural key visual on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The visual showcased the Fujiyoshi family, including husbands Masaki and Hiromu, along with their son Hikari, all enjoying a joyful time at a children's park. Studio DEEN unveiled with the key visual that the BL anime is set to premiere on television and streaming platforms in 2024, along with the announcement of the anime's production staff.

Shinji Ishihira is set to direct the anime at Studio DEEN, known for previous work on Sasaki and Miyano, Super Lovers, and Fairy Tail. Series scripts will be handled by Yoshiko Nakamura, who also has experience with Super Lovers and Sasaki and Miyano. And character design for the anime will be done by Mina Ōsawa, known for their work on School Babysitters, Given, and I-Chu: Halfway Through the Idol.

After the announcement, manga creator Ichi Ichikawa marked the occasion by releasing an illustration of the Fujiyoshi family. The creator expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the series and the readers for their support.

Ichikawa shared that the staff and cast members were approaching the series with great care, maintaining the spirit of the original work. The creator hoped that fans would come to see the Fujiyoshi family as their friends and neighbors, and grow to love them.

After the birth of their son Hikari, they relocated to a more child-friendly area. As Hikari approaches his second birthday, the family forms close bonds with neighbors and friends, but their past family ties start to resurface, leaving Masaki and Hiromu suspicious of their intentions.
