The Hunger Games franchise plot revolves around a dystopian world where the centralized nation of Panem is split into 12 districts, along with the Capitol. Every year, a cruel lottery selects two young representatives from each district to take part in The Hunger Games. These games serve as a twisted form of amusement for the citizens, as well as a ruthless punishment for a previous uprising. The competition is televised and broadcasted across all of Panem.
The 24 participants must eliminate their rivals while the citizens of Panem are required to witness. When Prim, the young sister of 16-year-old Katniss, is chosen as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, are matched against stronger opponents, some of whom have trained their entire lives for this.
The forthcoming prequel film of The Hunger Games, titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, will tell the backstory of Coriolanus Snow, who eventually becomes the president of Panem and becomes Katniss' ultimate adversary in the original trilogy.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes hits theaters November 17. You can read more about the movie below:

As a Gen Z fan, I am excited about the resurgence of The Hunger Games franchise with the release of its prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I am a big fan of the original trilogy and I am eager to see how the prequel will expand on the story. I am also excited to see Jennifer Lawrence return to the franchise in a new role.
I think that The Hunger Games is a great example of a young adult dystopian novel that has successfully made the transition to film. The movies are well-made and the acting is excellent. I think that the Hunger Games movies are a great way to introduce young people to the dystopian genre and to get them thinking about the dangers of totalitarianism.
