Steven Gerrard is currently in discussions with Al Ettifaq, a club in the Saudi Pro-League, regarding a managerial position. According to a source, Gerrard is now likely to accept the role, and an official announcement could be made within the next few days.

The previous manager of Aston Villa and Rangers revealed recently that he had engaged in talks with a club from Saudi Arabia. However, he made it clear that he currently has no intention of accepting their offer.

During the last season, Al-Ettifaq secured the seventh position in the Saudi Pro League, which consisted of 16 teams.

The Saudi top flight has now been expanded to 18 teams for the new campaign, and will feature players such as Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante,alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
