Though they quickly became one of Hollywood's most powerful couples, Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s love story had a humble beginning.
At the age of 15, the NBA star met the Seasoned Life author, who was 14 at the time, at a church in North Carolina. Although they both acknowledged their fondness for each other at a young age, it wasn't until later in life that they reconnected and pursued a romantic relationship as adults.
"I always admired her, but I was definitely a bit nervous," Stephen said in a previous interview with Parents Magazine, reflecting on their teenage years.
Several years later, the point guard of the Golden State Warriors finally had the opportunity to pursue Ayesha while visiting Los Angeles, where she resided. During his trip to the East Coast for the ESPY Awards, Stephen and Ayesha spent the day together as friends, and their relationship later turned romantic.

“I wasn't allowed to date in high school,” Ayesha told Parents Magazine. “We always laugh that we were both focused on God.”

The couple revealed how Ayesha managed to avoid Stephen's initial attempt at a kiss. "He was in the middle of talking and suddenly leaned in for a kiss like a thief in the night," the devoted wife shared with Parents magazine while reminiscing about their first adult hangout. "So I just said, 'No.' Then I realized, 'Oh, I didn't realize this was happening.'"
