Starfield is a captivating and expansive sci-fi RPG that offers players the opportunity to venture through an array of planets and moons. As they delve into the secrets surrounding ancient relics scattered across the Settled Systems, a multitude of dangers awaits, from pirates to native creatures in search of a meal.
To confront these threats, combat becomes integral in Starfield. Players can acquire a variety of weapons, which can be further augmented with skill enhancements to amplify their damage output. The accessibility of different weapon types varies, with some being readily available while others require more time and effort. One such example is the shotgun.
How to Get a Shotgun
Throughout Starfield, players will have various opportunities to scavenge from both containers and enemies. The items they acquire during scavenging are somewhat random, including their rarity. In other words, one possible way to acquire a shotgun is by looting it from an enemy. Since this is a completely random occurrence, some players may stumble upon a shotgun immediately, while others may have to search for hours before finding one. The shotgun shown in the image above was discovered in the Nova Galactic Staryard.
However, looting is not the sole method of obtaining a shotgun in the game. Vendors occasionally sell shotguns, so players have the chance to purchase one if they are fortunate enough (and have enough Credits). It is worth noting that higher quality shotguns will incur a greater cost than those of common quality. For instance, a rare quality Rapidshot was spotted being sold for 23,730 Credits in a New Atlantis shop. Bearing in mind that there are more expensive items in the game, players may prefer to save their money wisely.
Examples of Shotguns
Among all the weapons in Starfield, there are two types of Shotguns: ballistic and particle-beam. Ballistic shotguns outnumber particle-beam shotguns and differ in terms of statistics, rarity, and the number of modifications they can possess.
The initial shotgun discussed in this guide is a common quality variant known as Coachman. It possesses no modifications, offers an accuracy rate of 38.4%, has a magazine capacity of two rounds, and inflicts 63 points of damage. In comparison, the rare quality Rapidshot boasts six modifications, an accuracy rate of 56.9%, a magazine capacity of six rounds, and deals significantly higher damage than the Coachman (precisely 131 points).
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
