Starfield, but it's exciting to see the return of this beloved character in some form.
In Starfield gameplay, players can choose the Hero Worshipped trait and gain the attention of an Adoring Fan. The Fan will randomly appear and incessantly talk to the player, but will also give gifts. While some players have found the commentary annoying, it remains to be seen how useful the Fan will be in the game. Bethesda has confirmed that the Fan will have scavenging, concealment, and weight-lifting skills. However, for those who don't want the Fan as a companion, there are other options. Vasco, a robotic companion, was also showcased and can follow players around, stay with the ship, and even address players by name. Starfield's companion system appears to be much more intricate than in previous Bethesda games, and there are several companions confirmed, including Sarah Morgan, Sam Coe, Barret, Marika Boros, and Heller. The role of the Adoring Fan remains uncertain.
There will be a touch of romance in Starfield, though it remains unclear to what extent. The Direct hints at a possible romance with Sam Coe after he is shown making advances towards a female player. With the showcase providing plenty to ponder over, it appears that Starfield is shaping up to be a hit with fans of companion systems and Bethesda's gaming legacy. Keep an eye out for its release on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
