Should you side with the Hunter or Emissary in Starfield
The decision to become a Starfield Hunter or an Emissary occurs at a later stage of the campaign. To provide a brief overview:Upon completing the quest All That Money Can Buy, you will encounter the Emissary, a Starborn individual in search of the artifacts.
You'll also get attacked by The Hunter during A High Price to Pay.
You'll discuss matters with the two once you solve the Unity Ancient Ruins puzzle, and you'll also receive the Moon Base Key.
That leads to the Unearthed mission, which takes place on Luna, as well as the NASA Landmark on Earth.
Upon exiting the NASA facility, both Starborn will ask you if you want to join them.
Your decisions here will affect what transpires in the Revelation final mission.
Choose your friend... wisely.
What happens if you side with the Emissary
The Emissary (your deceased companion from an alternate reality) seeks control over the Unity, serving as its caretaker or guardian. While this may appear benevolent, it also entails the authority to determine which individuals are deserving of becoming Starborn. To align with the Emissary's faction in Starfield, opt for the subsequent responses:The Emissary's perspective holds validity. The Artifacts must reside in capable hands.
I support the Emissary.
In the later stages of the Revelation's final mission, the Emissary will extend assistance. They will engage in combat with other Starborn vessels in outer space, and they will confront the Starborn and Ecliptic mercenaries within the facility.
What happens if you side with the Hunter
The Hunter, also known as Keeper Aquilus from a parallel universe, espouses a Darwinian philosophy, where strength determines success and weakness leads to defeat. Consequently, he believes that individuals possessing sufficient power have the right to stake their claim on the Artifacts and strive for unity. Embracing anarchic violence, the Hunter sees it as the means through which the Starborn vie for dominance. To align oneself with the Hunter amidst the vast expanse of Starfield, one must affirm the following responses:The Hunter's perspective holds true. The sole governing principle revolves around the prompt acquisition of the Artifacts.
I align myself with the Hunter.
The Hunter will also provide assistance during the ultimate Relevation mission. However, prior to that occurrence, he assigns you another objective: eliminate Keeper Aquilus. The choice is yours whether to carry out this action or to persuade Aquilus to conceal himself.
In a humorous twist, our interactions with Andreja throughout this stage of the campaign were quite amusing. Initially, when we expressed reservations about eliminating Aquilus, she disapproved of our doubts. However, to our surprise, she also disapproved when we eventually agreed to end his life, as she saw it as an excessive eagerness on our part to commit murder. Keeping in mind the number of likes we would receive from Andreja, we made our final decision.
What happens if you side with neither Starborn
Choosing Neither the Hunter nor the EmissaryTo defy the dichotomy of the Hunter and the Emissary in Starfield, adopt an alternative stance by employing these responses:
"You're both mistaken. It's high time that a decision is taken by someone who isn't Starborn."
I'm exhausted with both of you. I'll reach Unity by myself.
Moreover, Andreja also appreciated both responses, thanks to her self-reliant character and the implication that humanity would no longer be subordinate to superior forces.
Coincidentally, upon reaching the planet during the Revelation final mission, both Starborn will launch an attack against you. Additionally, you will be left without any Starborn ally to support you in combat encounters.
This encompasses all the information you need to determine whether you should align yourself with the Hunter or Emissary in Starfield. However, there is one more crucial decision that awaits you at the conclusion of the Entangled mission.
