Located in a less-than-desirable location at the commencement of Starfield, Gagarin Landing falls short in comparison to the UC capital, New Atlantis. Gagarin is primarily geared towards industrial pursuits and suffered significant setbacks due to the conditions set forth in the peace agreement following the Colony War.

Nevertheless, amidst these challenges, there exist individuals in Gagarin Landing steadfastly working towards revitalizing the town. One of these individuals is Zinaida Kuipers, the local UC Vanguard recruiter. Zinaida requires assistance in spreading awareness that the Vanguard is actively seeking fresh recruits. Even those who do not intend to become part of the organization can contribute by promoting this message within the realm of Starfield.

How to Start UC Wants You!

Players can participate in a side mission in Starfield where they have the opportunity to assist Zinaida at the local recruitment office. In addition, players can locate the UC Vanguard office and introduce themselves.

When players introduce themselves to Zinaida, she will initially attempt to recruit them, provided they are not already part of the Vanguard. However, it is important to note that her side mission is separate from the UC Vanguard faction missions, so players should decline the recruitment offer. Instead, players should inform Zinaida that they are seeking employment. She will then request their assistance in distributing promotional material to local businesses, offering additional payment if players can ensure that the businesses actually display the posters and pamphlets.

How to Get the Biggest Reward

Players must interact with three specific characters in order to progress in the game: the bartender, Lizzy Ajello, the head of security, Chief Pretorius, and the town doctor, Keala. Among these characters, Chief Pretorius is the only one who will readily assist in setting up promotional materials without any further negotiation. If players manage to complete this task, they will earn 75 XP and receive a small amount of credits based on their current level.

On the other hand, both Lizzy and Keala are more inclined to reject the materials, prompting players to employ persuasion tactics if they wish to obtain the additional cash reward. Convincing Keala requires passing a four-step Persuasion process, while convincing Lizzy demands success in a six-step Persuasion endeavor. However, if players successfully complete Lizzy's side mission titled "Sure Bet," they may encounter a special green option during the Persuasion process that will grant them an additional five steps.

If players are unsuccessful in a Persuasion attempt, the character will decline to display the promotional materials, yet no further consequences will transpire. Upon their return to Zinaida, players will be rewarded with an additional 1,000 credits for successfully persuading one person or 2,000 credits for persuading both individuals.
