In Starfield, the penultimate mission known as "The Eye of the Storm" centers around the Crimson Fleet and the UC SysDef. By this point, these two factions within Starfield have become intertwined, and players have taken on the role of a double agent. Now, it is time for the action to speak for itself as players' hard work is about to pay off. They must venture into the unknown in search of the founder of the Crimson Fleet and the opportunity to achieve a significant score that will make them rich.
"The Eye of the Storm" is a challenging mission, not only because players must make critical decisions towards the end but also because the stranded and derelict vessel poses numerous dangers that could result in the player's demise. As the mission nears its conclusion, players will be eager to learn how to escape the Legacy in Starfield to avoid sharing the same fate as those who perished onboard.
Talk To Delgado
Starting from
Players should first return to the Key and proceed to Jazz's Ship Services office. Upon arrival, they will find Jazz and Delgado engaged in a heated argument. Speaking with Delgado, he will acknowledge that the time has come to embark on the journey to Bannoc 4 using the equipment they have acquired through theft and looting.
Following the interaction with Delgado, players should then engage in a conversation with Jazz regarding the installation of the new parts onto their ship. This process may pose a challenge for players who are not acquainted with the mechanics of ship construction in Starfield.
Install The ComSpike And Conduction Grid Modules
When speaking to Jazz, players should politely ask, "Can you assist me with my spaceship?" Then, they should express their desire to access and make modifications to their spaceships by saying, "I would like to view and customize my spacecraft." Subsequently, players should proceed to select the specific spaceship they prefer for the current mission and the subsequent one. Once inside the Modify Ships screen, players should follow these instructions:
1. Activate Ship Builder Mode by clicking on it.
Press ‘Add’ when the cursor is away from any ship modules
Navigate to ‘Equipment’
Select the 'Conduction Grid' and 'ComSpike' items and position them separately onto the ship. Players must ensure there is enough space for these items, which can be easily done by checking the available blue circles.
Click on 'Exit' to confirm the modifications.
Now that those modules have been installed, the next objective is to head to the UC Vigilance and inform Kibwe Ikande of the Crimson Fleet’s next move.
Speak To Kibwe Ikande
Having shifted from its regular location in the galaxy, the UC Vigilance has now settled in the adjacent Crimson Fleet system, positioned strategically to initiate their attack on the Key. As players venture into the vessel, they can proceed towards the Operations Center and engage in conversation with Commander Kibwe, updating him on their accomplishments and discussing their forthcoming actions to advance towards Bannoc 4.
Head To Bannoc 4
Bannoc 4 can be found in the Bannoc system, requiring players to traverse multiple solar systems to reach this remote and uncharted destination. Upon arrival, their recently installed modules will provide protection against the electromagnetic storm and the hazards posed by the gas giant's clouds. Nevertheless, navigating becomes challenging due to limited visibility caused by obscured vision and obstructive asteroids.
However, players must diligently track the Unknown Signal until they discover the Legacy, a crucial ship that serves as the starting point for embarking on the grandest heist within Starfield. Onboard, an immense fortune of hundreds of thousands of Credits eagerly awaits exploration.
Navigate Through The Legacy
Once onboard the Legacy, players will immediately sense the eerie atmosphere of this abandoned ship, left to decay with only remnants of its past. The vessel is a chaotic mess, strewn with debris and broken robots. As players ascend the staircase, they stumble upon an audio log titled GBLR001: Adrift. This recording captures the desperate voices of GalBank employees, recording their distress after their engines were destroyed by a menacing storm.
Continuing their ascent, players enter the mess hall where they discover another audio log, GBLR010: Kryx's Arrival. This log recounts the arrival of Jasper Kryx and his growing apprehension of being stranded on this fated vessel. Moving into the crew quarters, players come across the lifeless body of Aquilar, accompanied by the heart-wrenching audio log GBLR009: Aguilar's Farewell. Through this recording, a crew member painfully recounts the tragic demise of each of her companions, ultimately leading to her own fate. Within the same room lies the lifeless figure of Mayfield, lying on their bed, with the recording GBLR008: Poker Game.
In the captain's quarters,
Locate The Vault Control Center
, Captain Liang's computer holds additional lore details about the mission and crew. Additionally, within this room, you will find the GBLR007: Running on Empty recording, which depicts Liang and Kellner acknowledging their impending demise in this place.Navigating the deserted and vacant corridors, gamers will stumble upon the initial Control Center, but they must acquire a Transfer Module to enter it. Fortunately, a Transfer Module is conveniently placed in the adjacent room, alongside the lifeless remains of Osterholt.
Now that players have entered, they will come across a CredTank, which can be effortlessly activated using the action button to acquire a quick influx of a few thousand Credits. However, beyond this room, players must remain vigilant, grasping their guns tightly, with their fingers poised on the trigger.
Find The Vault Room
Upon discovering the imposing, vividly orange barricade, individuals will be compelled to step forward, unknowingly initiating an alarm that triggers the activation of formidable mechanical defenses specifically designed to discourage potential thieves. These foolproof security measures encompass an intricate network of surveillance cameras, lethal turrets, and autonomous robots. To progress towards the Reactor room, players must vigorously combat their way through the Hydraulics region before advancing to the Shield Generator room and ultimately to the Physical Plant. Descending a flight of stairs and veering towards the right, players will come across the highly coveted vault room. However, due to its securely sealed state, players must redirect their focus towards the Engine Room as their next destination.
There is a vast array of machinery in the Engine Room that players must navigate through in order to locate the alternate Vault Control Room. This room houses a computer terminal next to a door that can be opened, granting access to the inner chambers. As players progress, they will be amazed by the abundance of CredTanks, although they are unfortunately inaccessible. To continue their quest, players should proceed to the far end of the spacious room, where they will discover a remarkable Crimson Fleet idol...
Retrieve Jasper Kryx’s Possessions
Within the confines of the Vault Control Room lies the eternal resting spot of the esteemed founder of the Crimson Fleet. Adjacent to his lifeless form, players are greeted with towering piles of Credstiks, the invaluable evidence of GBLR013: Mortem Obire, and the indispensable GalBank Transfer Module. Resting upon the desk, players shall discover the extraordinary legendary rifle, christened as the Revenant.
Underneath this gun is the GBLR011: The Waiting Game audio log that players need to pick up and listen to proceed with the quest.
Reroute Ship’s Power And Use The Data Core Port
After listening to the audio log, players must reroute the ship’s power. To do this, they need to activate both Power Override Control switches, which are located opposite each other in the same room. Once activated, these switches will turn on the power and unlock the dual Transfer Module lock switches at the center of the room. Players should then place both Transfer Modules into their designated slots and insert the Data Core into the Data Core Port. The next crucial step is to initiate the download of the Credit Reserves on the Legacy. It is recommended for players to save their progress at this point, as the subsequent task involves a daring and highly stressful escape from the moment they take possession of the Data Core Port.
Escape The Legacy
Watch the video below to discover the optimal escape route from the Legacy during the Eye of the Storm mission.
To find their way back, players can simply retrace their steps to the starting point. However, they will encounter obstacles caused by explosions, such as new robot enemies and inaccessible areas. To successfully escape, players must sprint and skillfully navigate through these challenges. The video provided above offers the best strategy for reaching their ship. Once there, they can quickly jump into the cockpit, detach from the exploding vessel, and fly away to safety. By doing so, they can avoid sharing the same fate as the crew onboard and Jasper Kryx, the pirate king.
