Starfield Player's Hilarious Interruption Steals the Spotlight from Brogan's Tutorial Speech

In Starfield's tutorial planet, Brogan's speech takes an unexpected turn when a mischievous player disrupts the peaceful resolution on Kreet, leading to hilarious consequences

Highlights

Starfield's tutorial dungeon, the Kreet Research Lab, familiarizes players with key aspects of gameplay, such as flying a spaceship and interacting with the environment.

Players have the option to use Persuade choices to convince Brogan, but one player opted for combat and comically disrupted the boss's speech by throwing a grenade.

In Starfield, conversations can be abruptly interrupted by external factors such as wildlife, providing players with diverse approaches to handle situations. This includes the possibility of shooting someone in the middle of a conversation if circumstances take a turn for the worse.

A Starfield player shared a video of defeating Brogan, a captain from the Crimson Fleet, who is known as the game's punching bag. Exploring Kreet in Starfield is typically one of the first tasks players undertake after creating their character and acquiring their starship. Vasco, Starfield's initial companion, advises the protagonist to address the threat posed by the Crimson Fleet before heading to New Atlantis to meet Constellation. As a result, the Kreet Research Lab serves as the tutorial dungeon in the game.

In comparison to previous Bethesda titles, confronting Brogan and his crew is comparable to escaping Helgen by navigating through caves and vanquishing Frostbite Spiders along the way. Similar to Skyrim's tutorial, Starfield ensures that players become acquainted with the fundamental elements of its gameplay in the Kreet section of the game. This includes skills such as piloting a spaceship, using a digipick to unlock containers, engaging in persuasive dialogue with characters, and scanning the surrounding world.

Since the Early Access launch of Starfield, it appears that many players have a tendency to engage in combat quickly. Although Brogan is meant to be the initial "boss" encounter, players can actually negotiate with him by selecting the appropriate Persuade options. Unfortunately, Aaron S. Bailey did not have the opportunity to make these choices during his playthrough. Instead, he instinctively threw a grenade at the first sign of hostiles, causing Brogan to comically abandon the conversation and retaliate against the player in the middle of his speech.

This occurrence is not limited to Brogan alone. Any external factor, whether initiated by the player or someone else, has the potential to disrupt any conversation at any given moment. For instance, Starfield players might find themselves conversing with Sarah Morgan in the wilderness of a random planet, only to have their dialogue interrupted by the local wildlife. This unconventional approach to dialogue in Starfield grants players more gameplay possibilities to navigate various situations. If they perceive the conversation heading in a negative direction, they are not hindered from resorting to violence and shooting the individual they are speaking with.

Despite some concerns about Starfield's map and other features not meeting the high expectations, it remains a true Bethesda sandbox game. Overall, the general consensus leans towards positivity. Starfield has gained considerable popularity on Steam as an Early Access title, and with the introduction of patches and mods to address crucial issues, it is highly likely that Bethesda fans will continue to relish the interstellar experience offered by Starfield for years to come. Mark your calendars: Starfield launches on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
