One exceptionally imaginative Starfield player successfully recreated an accurate version of the Planet Express ship from Futurama. As Starfield continues to achieve milestones and gain popularity on Steam and beyond, Bethesda has once again captivated a large audience with its latest release. While the Starfield community has certainly voiced valid criticism, there is also an abundance of enjoyable aspects within the Settled Systems. For every critique regarding Starfield's space exploration or lack of weapon variety, there are equally commendable praises for its physics engine and gunplay.

Since its launch, the ship builder in Starfield has captivated its audience like no other feature. Players have enthusiastically shared their ship designs on social media, ranging from original concepts to faithful recreations of popular sci-fi franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars, StarCraft, and Mass Effect. The ship builder's flexibility is evident in its ability to accommodate even the most ambitious ideas, such as recreating the Star Destroyer in Starfield.

One Starfield community member, RoseWoman2020, set out to build the Planet Express ship from Futurama and share it on the official Starfield subreddit. While she drew inspiration from RADiCALRUX's build, RoseWoman2020 aimed to make the proportions more faithful to the design seen in the show. The end result is undeniably impressive in terms of visuals, but RoseWoman2020 believes there is still room for improvement. Specifically, she feels that the ship lacks a C-class reactor and is somewhat under-equipped in terms of weaponry.

While the ship builder is a great way to express creativity in Starfield, it is important not to overlook the gameplay aspect. Flying through the Settled Systems using grav-jumping can be quite thrilling. Players will encounter Va'ruun Zealots, Spacers, and the Crimson Fleet, leading to unexpected battles. If the player's ship is not properly equipped, these encounters could result in a game over. Enhanced lasers, reactors, engines, and shields for Starfield's ships can be obtained from higher-level enemies or purchased at various docks across the Settled Systems. Each major manufacturer offers their own exclusive parts.

The timing of RoseWoman2020's Planet Express design couldn't have been more perfect, coinciding with the current airing of the eighth season of the Futurama reboot. The original voice cast, including John DiMaggio, returned for the reboot, which has been well-received so far. Although the base game version of the ship builder faces difficulties with creating rounded edges, the future release of modding tools for Starfield may open doors for new ship parts, allowing for even more accurate designs.

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
