A Starfield player discovered a planet in the game that has four distinct biomes, proving that some planets have a lot of variety.
Before the game launched, there was doubt regarding the level of uniqueness displayed by each planet. However, it has now been established that the majority of planets feature one or two distinct environmental biomes.
While a few gamers were surprised to discover that certain planets in Starfield possess multiple biomes, others remained unimpressed, as thorough exploration necessitates touchdown on various regions of each planet.
A diligent Starfield enthusiast made an exciting discovery within the game, finding a planet containing four distinct environmental biomes. This finding showcases the immense diversity that some planets within Starfield possess, as players worldwide embark on exploring its expansive solar system.
Prior to the release of Bethesda's captivating space adventure, promotional materials claimed that Starfield would feature over a thousand planets available for exploration. This inevitably sparked skepticism among Bethesda fans, as they questioned the extent to which each planet could truly differ within the game. Now that Starfield has been released, it is widely known that the majority of planets are procedurally generated, typically showcasing one or two environmental biomes. Much like the Star Wars universe, Starfield's solar system consists primarily of planets wholly comprised of sand, swamp, and similar terrains.
Thanks to Reddit user lavabendingfirelord's planetary exploration in Starfield's solar system, it appears that not all planets follow the same pattern. Lavabendingfirelord shared four gameplay images on the Starfield subreddit, showcasing different worlds within the same planet. The first image displays a vibrant environment with tall, red grass and trees resembling Earth's autumn season. In the second picture, we see patches of green grass surrounded by trees commonly found in certain areas of Africa. The third image features a desert-like landscape with spiky bushes and a hazy blue sky. Lastly, the final picture portrays a dense, foggy forest.
These captivating images were captured on Cassiopeia 1, a planet within Starfield's ETA Cassiopeia system. Cassiopeia 1 is classified as a Rock-type planet, abundant in natural resources with a safe water level. While there are no moons orbiting Cassiopeia 1, it is accompanied by eight other planets within the system, all named Cassiopeia with varying numbers.
Several comments on the post indicated that a significant number of players were unaware of the existence of multiple biomes on certain planets in Starfield. One commenter, known as PlentyComfortable734, approximated that there are approximately 10 planets in the game that feature more than just one or two different environments. However, some Starfield players were not particularly impressed by this revelation, primarily due to the game's handling of exploration. To witness the various biomes on these planets, players are required to utilize their spacecraft to land on different regions of each world. For these players, there is no distinction between landing on a different area of a planet and landing on an entirely separate world.
Starfield is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
