Stardew Valley offers a range of intriguing locations for players to explore as they progress in the game. One of these captivating places is the Calico Desert, which is located in the far northwest of Pelican Town. It is inhabited by Sandy, who manages the Oasis, the Desert Trader, and the enigmatic Mr. Qi. Within the Desert, players can discover new treasures such as unique fruit, exotic fish, and the treacherous underground maze known as The Skull Cavern.
However, accessing the Desert in Stardew Valley requires players to repair the Bus at Pelican Town's Bus Stop. The Bus Stop serves as the initial point of arrival for players when they first move to Stardew Valley. Unfortunately, the bus service breaks down shortly after their arrival.
How to Fix the Bus in Stardew Valley
There are two ways players can repair the Bus in Stardew Valley.
The Community Center
Players wishing to restore Pelican Town's Community Center must familiarize themselves with Junimos, forest spirits who reside there. These spirits generously reward players upon completion of Bundles. After successfully completing four Bundles, players gain access to the Vault.
Within the Vault, players have the opportunity to purchase four bundles for a substantial fee of 42,000 gold. By successfully completing all the bundles within the Vault, players contribute to the repair of the Bus Stop, enabling them to travel by bus to the Calico Desert.
The Joja Corporation
In order to follow the Joja route, players will need to make a payment of 5,000 gold to Morris for a JojaMart Membership. This membership grants players access to the Joja Community Development Form in Stardew Valley, which provides a list of development projects planned by the Joja Corporation for Pelican Town. One of these projects is the restoration of the Bus Stop, which requires a hefty sum of 40,000 gold.
Players have the freedom to choose whichever route they prefer. However, completing the Community Center bundles can be more fulfilling as it grants additional rewards such as a crystalarium, a lightning rod, 3 chocolate cakes, and 30 quality fertilizers.
After successfully repairing the bus, an NPC named Pam takes on the role of Bus Driver. The bus service operates daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, allowing passengers to board. To access the bus, players must purchase a ticket for 500 g from the machine, which prompts the bus to begin its journey to the Calico Desert.
Stardew Valley is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
