Spy X Family season 2 unveils highly-anticipated storyline in thrilling new trailer

The official website of the anime Spy x Family released a promotional video prior to the start of the Cruise Ship Arc in season 2 on November 4. This 2-minute-long video provided fans with a sneak peek into the content of the upcoming arc.

In Tatsuya Endo's Spy x Family, the narrative revolves around Twilight, a spy assigned to the mission of infiltrating Donovan Desmond's inner circle to gather crucial information. To accomplish this task, Twilight establishes a counterfeit family. However, unbeknownst to him, his wife Yor is a skilled assassin, and his daughter Anya possesses supernatural abilities known as "Esper."

Spy x Family season 2 trailer reveals Yor's mission

In the previous episode's conclusion, Yor Forger receives a mission from her employer at the Garden. As revealed in the promotional video, Yor's assignment will unfold on a cruise ship. Interestingly, Loid and Anya find themselves with the opportunity to join the ship as well, thanks to their lottery win.

Although Loid had reservations about the journey, his superior Sylvia Sherwood herself can be seen urging Loid to embark on the trip. Consequently, both Loid and Anya are slated to accompany Yor on the enchanting cruise ship Princess Lorelei. However, they will be spending a significant portion of their time apart.

While Loid may appear to have a life without missions, it won't be a walk in the park for him as he spends two days on a cruise ship with Anya. On the other hand, Yor's objective revolves around ensuring the safety and serving as an escort for Olka Gletcher and her son, who are being targeted by a skilled group of assassins also aboard the cruise ship.

However, unlike the previous assassins Yor may have encountered, her new adversaries display considerable intelligence. They have managed to determine their target's room number and have devised a well-organized plan to carry out the execution.

Fortunately, Yor will receive assistance from her colleague, Matthew McMahon. Additionally, Anya is eager to support her mother and embark on her own Cruise Ship Adventure as the brave hero, Anya. Meanwhile, the promotional video also reveals Yor's wavering confidence in her life as an assassin and her contemplation of making the cruise mission her last assignment.
