Spy X Family season 2 is all set to release this week, much to the excitement of its fans. The anime gained immense popularity upon its debut, quickly amassing a dedicated fanbase. However, the initial hype surrounding the series gradually faded away after a few months.
Nevertheless, fans of the show have eagerly awaited the return of Anya Forger to their screens. Sadly, the anime could possibly face a decline in its success. While one might assume that this decline could be attributed to the diminishing hype, the root cause can be traced back to its production.

Spy X Family season 2 could suffer due to movie production
In Spy X Family season 2, viewers can catch Anya Forger and Becky Blackbell, as depicted in the image from WIT Studio and CloverWorks.
Spy X Family season 2 is scheduled to launch on Saturday, October 7, 2023, marking its return a mere nine months after the completion of the previous season. However, there's more to look forward to than just the anime's comeback. An exciting movie titled Spy X Family Movie: Code: White is also in the works. Slated for release on December 22, 2023, this film's premiere date is expected to coincide with the airing of the anime's 12th episode.
Given the possibility that the studios behind the anime, CloverWorks and WIT Studio, may allocate their resources primarily towards the film due to budget constraints, it raises concerns for the potential impact on Spy X Family season 2.
The situation with Studio Bones' My Hero Academia anime serves as a prime example. During the airing of the show's fifth season from March to September 2021, the studio made the decision to also release a film titled My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission in August 2021. Unfortunately, this had a detrimental impact on the production quality of the fifth season, resulting in a significant decline in animation quality.
Given this past occurrence, it is highly likely that the upcoming Spy X Family Movie: Code: White could also pose a threat to the second season of Spy X Family. This movie has the potential to divert both time and budget away from the production of the television anime, ultimately jeopardizing the overall quality of the series.

Notably, the potential for a calamity was not confined to the moment the release dates were revealed. In fact, it had been expected right from the time the film itself was announced. This became apparent during Spy X Family's Jump Festa 2023 event, where the voice actors of the anime were previously only informed about the production of the second season. Consequently, their surprise was palpable when they learned that the series was also set to receive an original movie.
The decision-makers behind the anime are truly showcased by this, exemplifying their creative choices. Additionally, the intentional enigma surrounding the appearance of the voice actors may have been orchestrated to enhance the thrill and astonishment of the announcement. Additionally, it is important to note that the Spy X Family anime is being produced by two anime studios simultaneously. While the first season consisted of two parts, it is currently unknown how many parts the second season will have. Therefore, there is a possibility that the second season will only be one cour in length. In this scenario, the two studios should be capable of effectively managing the production of both the television anime and the movie.
Furthermore, the involvement of two anime studios implies a larger workforce behind the production. As a result, it is plausible that the entire anime will remain unaffected. However, fans will have to patiently wait until both anime are released to obtain further information.
