THQ Nordic has revealed the release date for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as October 16. Moreover, a free update with various exciting additions, including a Photo Mode, will be available for all platforms, including PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

The Photo Mode offers players the opportunity to select from 19 unique filters to enhance their pictures. Alongside this feature, there are new costumes to discover. By gathering all doubloons, players can unlock the King Doubloon costume, while obtaining all rewards will grant access to the Plush Gary costume.

The PlayStation 5 version of the game will include support for DualSense controller features. This means that when players pick up items, they will experience audio output. Additionally, the adaptive triggers will be triggered when using the reef blower and swinging hook actions.

Furthermore, the update will address general bugs and resolve rare issues where the save function completely stopped working and playtime did not pause while on the loading screen.
