Nintendo has announced that Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, the sequel to Luigi's first haunted adventure, will be receiving a visually-enhanced version for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. The recent Nintendo Direct event made numerous exciting announcements for fans of both the Luigi's Mansion series and the Super Mario franchise as a whole.
Originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (known as Luigi's Mansion 2 in other regions) offers a spooky yet lighthearted action-adventure experience. With more secrets to discover and ghosts to capture, it quickly became beloved by Nintendo fans. However, the spotlight has since been taken by the immensely popular Luigi's Mansion 3, which introduced a co-op campaign and a series of multiplayer mini-games for fans to enjoy competitive play.
Nintendo fans who were disappointed by the closure of the Nintendo eShop service for the 3DS and Wii U consoles can now rejoice, as Nintendo has announced a visually-enhanced version of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the Nintendo Switch. This remake, set to be released next year, will allow fans to relive the nostalgic single-player campaign on more modern hardware. But that's not all - during the recent Nintendo Direct event, a remake of Super Mario RPG was also announced for the Nintendo Switch, scheduled to arrive next year. With new tracks and returning characters coming to Mario Kart 8 DLC as well, it's clear that Nintendo has a lot in store for Super Mario franchise fans.
Fans will have even more to be excited about, as Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
