More than 130 out of 193 United Nations member states have acknowledged the statehood of Palestine, as reported by the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris announced in Dublin on Wednesday that Ireland, Norway, and Spain have officially recognized the state of Palestine. Each country will now take the required national actions to implement this decision.

The recognition of this decision will be effective in all three countries on May 28th, as confirmed by Irish foreign minister Micheál Martin.

Israel quickly criticized the recent decision made by three important European countries, prompting a senior lawmaker to demand the immediate return of Israeli ambassadors from Ireland and Norway. In response, Norway's Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, emphasized the importance of resolving the Palestinian question for achieving peace and stability, especially in light of the ongoing war in Gaza.

Norway's Foreign Minister Støre emphasized the importance of preserving the two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians during times of conflict. He stressed the need for both nations to coexist peacefully and securely.

Similarly, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez declared Spain's intention to recognize the state of Palestine. This decision was based on the principles of peace, coherence, and justice.

He clarified that the recognition is not a reflection of any animosity towards the people of Israel or the Jewish community. Instead, it is a positive step towards promoting co-existence. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz emphasized that his country will take strong action against any threats to its sovereignty and security.
