Footage of playable Amy Rose, including her Super Form, has leaked online ahead of the official launch of Sonic Origins Plus in June. While fans are excited about Amy obtaining a Super Form, opinions on its appearance are divided. Sonic Origins Plus is an expansion to the original game released last summer and features 12 Sega Game Gear games, as well as a playable Classic Amy Rose.
The addition of Amy as a playable character in Sonic Origins Plus has been well-received, as it allows her to combat Dr. Eggman's robots like the other three characters already included in the base game. This inclusion has also sparked excitement among fans, as it fulfills a long-standing desire to see Amy in her Super Form. This transformation, inspired by Dragon Ball Z's Super Saiyan, has been a recurring feature in the franchise, but has rarely been utilized by characters other than Sonic. In fact, the Super and Hyper forms were previously only available for Knuckles and Tails in the classic game Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Leaked footage from the Plus update reveals that Amy does indeed have both a Super and Hyper form, which can be achieved by collecting the necessary items. However, fan opinions on the appearance of these forms are mixed.
Fans were disappointed with the Super Form of Amy in Sonic Origins Plus because it appeared uninspired, with only a change in the color of her quills and a glowing effect. Many fans had hoped for a more unique design for Amy's Super Form, similar to the approach taken with Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray in the classic games and Sonic Mania, rather than just a simple palette swap.
