Apple TV+ has announced a new Peanuts movie, directed by Steve Martino and featuring CGI animation. This highly anticipated film will take viewers on a captivating journey as Charlie Brown and Snoopy embark on a thrilling adventure in the Big City. Although a release date has not been confirmed, production is set to begin in 2024.
What To Expect From This Peanuts Movie
This Peanuts film is the first movie adaptation of the comic since The Peanuts Movie in 2015. Similar to its predecessor, The Peanuts Movie, this film also brings the classic comic strip characters to life through CGI. Upon its release, The Peanuts Movie received positive reviews and garnered an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It is promising to note that Martino, who directed The Peanuts Movie, is also at the helm of this newest Peanuts film. The creative team also includes producer Bonnie Arnold, and screenwriters Karey Kilpatrick, Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano. It is worth mentioning that the latter three were co-writers for The Peanuts Movie as well. Additionally, Kilpatrick has an impressive background as an animated screenwriter, having worked on projects like Chicken Run and Over the Hedge.
The upcoming Peanuts movie, scheduled to begin production next year, will be released more than ten years after The Peanuts Movie. This release timeline presents an ideal opportunity to introduce the beloved characters to a new generation. Martino and the Peanuts team have the exciting prospect of reinventing and reimagining these iconic characters, with hopes of replicating the success seen in 2015's The Peanuts Movie. The original Peanuts comic strip had an impressive run from 1950 to 2000.

I am incredibly excited about the upcoming Peanuts movie! I grew up watching the Peanuts specials and movies, and they hold a special place in my heart. I love the characters, the humor, and the heartwarming stories. I'm eager to see what new adventures Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang get into.
I'm also confident that Steve Martino is the right person to direct this film. He did an excellent job with The Peanuts Movie in 2015, and I'm sure he'll bring the same level of care and attention to detail to this new project. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us!
