Thus, Rudger embarks on a perilous journey, desperately seeking Amanda's refuge before Mr. Bunting apprehends him, and Amanda's memory of him vanishes, causing him to gradually dissipate. Yet, how can an ethereal boy survive unaided in the realm of reality?
