Personal preferences vary! Despite the commonality of taking a shower as a regular daily activity, certain celebrities have acknowledged that their bathing routine can be influenced by different factors.
Mila Kunis caused quite a stir by revealing that her perspective on personal cleanliness was shaped by her upbringing. Growing up without access to sufficient hot water, she confessed to not showering frequently during her childhood.
"I never bathed my newborns—I wasn't that kind of parent," revealed the Bad Moms actress during her appearance on the "Armchair Expert" podcast hosted by Dax Shepard and Monica Padman in July 2021. Kunis, alongside her husband Ashton Kutcher, shares two children, Wyatt (born in 2014) and Dimitri (born in 2016). They also candidly discussed their approach to maintaining cleanliness on a day-to-day basis.
Kunis mentioned on the podcast that she often splashes water on her face after a workout to remove salts. This confession from the former cast members of That 70's Show sparked a broader conversation about bathing habits, including how parents handle their children's bath time. In the subsequent month, Shepard and his spouse, Kristen Bell, disclosed that they had struggled with keeping track of who was responsible for bathing their kids.
During an August 2021 interview on The View, Shepard revealed, "We had to start asking ourselves, 'When was the last time we bathed them?'" The couple humorously admitted that there were instances when they would go "five or six days" without bathing their children, Lincoln and Delta, who were born in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
"Once you detect an odor, it serves as a biological signal indicating the necessity for cleanliness," Bell commented. "It's a clear indication because essentially, it's bacteria. And once bacteria is present, it's important to promptly cleanse oneself by either taking a bath or shower."
In a subsequent discussion, Jake Gyllenhaal shared his perspective on why he occasionally chooses to forgo showers."
The actor, speaking to Vanity Fair in August 2021, acknowledged the benefits of not bathing for skin maintenance and emphasized the natural self-cleaning process. However, he made it clear that this approach didn't extend to all aspects of his hygiene.

To each their own! While it may seem like taking a shower is a typical part of one's day, some stars have admitted that habit can change based on circumstances.
In July 2021, Mila Kunis caused a stir when she revealed that her childhood experiences influenced her perspective on personal hygiene, as she didn't have access to hot water and therefore didn't shower frequently. During her conversation with Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on the "Armchair Expert" podcast, the actress confessed that she never bathed her newborns.
Kunis, along with her husband Ashton Kutcher, have two children together, Wyatt (born in 2014) and Dimitri (born in 2016). In a recent podcast interview, they opened up about their unconventional approach to maintaining cleanliness on a daily basis. Kunis mentioned her habit of splashing water on her face post-workout to remove any salt buildup.
The revelations from the alums of That 70's Show sparked a widespread conversation about personal bathing practices for both adults and children. In the subsequent month, Shepard and his wife, Kristen Bell, confessed that they had reached a stage where they had to keep tabs on who was responsible for their children's bath time.
"We had to begin asking, 'When was the last time you bathed them?'" Shepard disclosed during his appearance on The View in August 2021.
The couple, who have two children named Lincoln (born in 2013) and Delta (born in 2014), playfully admitted that they occasionally wait "five or six days" before bathing their little ones.
"When you start to notice an unpleasant smell, that's nature's way of signaling that it's time for a cleaning," Bell humorously shared. "It's a warning sign, really, because it's just a matter of bacteria. And once bacteria comes into the picture, you have to say, 'Time for a bath or a shower.'"
In August 2021, Jake Gyllenhaal shared his perspective on the matter, expressing his belief in the benefits of occasionally forgoing showers for skin maintenance and relying on our body's natural cleaning mechanisms. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the actor shed light on the concept of not bathing.
The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor admitted to not being fond of daily showers but emphasized that this did not extend to all aspects of his personal hygiene. He further stated that he believes in the importance of good manners and the need to maintain fresh breath, particularly highlighting the influence of Elvis Costello on his views. Kristen Bell
"I assumed that America wouldn't delve into this matter and demand detailed information about individuals' bathing frequency, right? After all, there are far more significant subjects," expressed the actress during an interview with Access Hollywood in August 2021. She found it amusing that her bathing habits were brought up for discussion due to her husband's podcast initiating the conversation.Bell claimed that Shepard, Kutcher, and Kunis were merely making jokes about their children's shower routines. She expressed disappointment in humanity, as the world had taken it seriously.
In the same month, the Frozen star discussed her own playful remarks regarding the frequency of her kids' bathing habits during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"We were just discussing this because there should be a universal rule for everyone, but that's not necessarily true. Each individual is unique," she clarified. "For instance, if someone prefers to shower after a workout, that's their choice. If someone decides to go without showering for a couple of days, that's fine too. It's not my responsibility if someone lacks proper hygiene, just as it's not your concern if I do. Perhaps people need a better understanding of what constitutes a joke and what doesn't. It seems like some individuals are treating this situation as if it were a serious Supreme Court case."

Then, before heading to work, I indulge in a warm shower after my workout to freshen up. And when I finally return home after work, I treat myself to a relaxing hot shower. In addition to that, I make sure to cleanse my face, lather up with body wash, and exfoliate my skin. To make the shower even more enjoyable, I can't resist singing along (albeit a bit off-key). This routine is essential for me," shared the Jungle Cruise actor on Twitter in August 2021.
