Officials have reported that a postal terminal in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine was targeted by a Russian missile strike, resulting in the tragic deaths of six individuals and leaving 16 others injured. On Saturday, two missiles were launched by Russian forces from the Belgorod region, near the Ukrainian border, specifically targeting a logistics company's building in the Kharkiv region, stated Dmytro Chubenko, the spokesperson for the Kharkiv region prosecutors office.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway, with efforts being made to determine the identities of the victims, according to Chubenko.
In a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, "Russia will not achieve anything through acts of terror and murder. The terrorists will ultimately face justice for all their actions."
Officials examined the damaged postal terminal following the attack.

The United States Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, called the deadly attack on the postal office in Kharkiv "horrific."
"Once again, disturbing images of Russian violence targeting civilians in Ukraine have emerged overnight. In Kharkiv, a missile attack on a postal office resulted in the tragic death of six individuals, leaving several others seriously injured. The Kremlin's blatant disregard for human life is evident to the entire world. The United States remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine and its commitment to holding Russia responsible for its actions," Brink wrote on social media on Sunday.
Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine, was freed from Russian occupation by Kyiv's troops in the previous year. However, it has since become a frequent target of aerial assaults orchestrated by Moscow.
Russian troops are battling to push westwards towards Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, while also hitting several regions with missile attacks.
