Another woman has come forward, accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault. Morganne Picard, a singer, has filed a new lawsuit in New York City alleging that Cosby drugged and raped her in 1987.
Picard accused the disgraced comedian of luring her to The Cosby Show set with the promise of advancing her career as a singer. According to court documents, Cosby provided her with drinks and strongly encouraged her to consume them, leading her to believe they were spiked as she would frequently experience blackouts. One incident left Picard waking up undressed in a hotel room with vaginal soreness, causing her to suspect she had been raped.
Additionally, Picard filed a lawsuit against NBCUniversal Media, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Astoria Studios Limited Partnership II, and The Carsey-Werner Company for their alleged failure to take action by investigating, reprimanding, supervising, or attempting to prevent Cosby's actions.
Cosby, on the other hand, has refuted the allegations with the help of his representative, Andrew Wyatt. Wyatt criticized the accusers for fostering unfounded stories in pursuit of publicity and financial gain. We have sought a comment from Cosby's side.
In a statement to The Daily Beast on Friday, Wyatt drew a disturbing parallel, likening the situation to a horrifying image of a man lynched and burned while the plantation owner celebrated with a barbecue and festivities for the enslaved individuals. Wyatt emphasized the absence of concrete evidence, proof, truth, or facts in these accusations.
In 2015, Cosby faced allegations of sexual misconduct from over 60 women, many of whom claimed he drugged and raped them. In 2017, his first sexual assault lawsuit ended in a mistrial after the jury could not come to a unanimous decision. In 2018, Andrea Constand, who had accused Cosby of raping her in 2004, filed a lawsuit. Cosby was found guilty and sentenced to three to 10 years in prison, along with mandatory counseling and registration as a sex offender. However, after serving two years, his conviction was overturned and he was released. In June 2021, we learned that the Pennsylvania high court found an agreement with a previous prosecutor that prevented Cosby from being charged, and he continued to maintain his innocence.

Following his release, Cosby tweeted that he has consistently held on to his innocence and has not changed his position. He expressed gratitude towards his supporters, fans, and friends who remained by his side throughout the ordeal. Additionally, he gave a special thanks to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for upholding the principles of justice. #BillCosby. The subsequent year, Cosby faced a civil lawsuit for the alleged sexual assault of Judy Huth in 1975 when she was a minor. Huth claimed to have been molested by Cosby during a party at the Playboy mansion. After the trial in June 2022, Huth was awarded $500,000 in damages.
Despite the result, Cosby's publicist and crisis manager claimed that the verdict was a significant triumph for their team. "They are seeking a substantial amount of money," the representative stated in a release. "The awarded sum will not suffice to cover the legal expenses, and we intend to appeal. Nevertheless, Mr. Cosby will not be responsible for punitive damages."
