Less than a year following Jonah Hill and Sarah Brady's breakup, she publicly addressed the conclusion of their relationship and claimed that the actor was emotionally abusive.
"This serves as a cautionary message for all women. If your partner communicates with you in such a manner, it is important to devise a plan to leave," Brady, a 25-year-old professional surfer, posted on her Instagram Story on July 7. She included screenshots of various text conversations and stated, "Feel free to reach out to me if you need someone to listen."
In Brady's text messages, Hill, 39, reportedly requested that she eliminate any surfing pictures from her Instagram in which she was wearing a thong. Following the deletion of "all the posts," the You People actress appeared to inform her that it was a "positive first step," but she appeared to not understand his intention.
"However, it is not my responsibility to educate you. I have plainly established my boundaries," Hill purportedly wrote. "You persist in clinging onto certain aspects, as you have made evident, and I hope it brings you satisfaction."
We have contacted Hill for a statement.
Although Hill has yet to publicly respond to Brady's accusations, she maintains that she was not wearing a thong but a swimsuit initially. Brady alleged that he made these comments to exert control over her. Additionally, she mentioned that she complied with his demands in an effort to shield him from severe anxiety.

On Friday, she shared her journey of healing and personal growth over the past year. With the support of loved ones and healthcare professionals, she has been able to reclaim her life without feeling any guilt, shame, or self-judgment. She even mentioned a specific instance of embracing her body by opting for a swimsuit while surfing instead of a more conservative wetsuit. However, she acknowledges that there is still more healing to be done as a result of the past abuse she experienced.
Hill and Brady made their relationship public in August 2021, after he first messaged her on social media. Brady also revealed a series of those messages on Friday, stating that he sent her flirtatious comments on her surf photos before they became a couple.
Brady explained, "I am sharing this publicly now because keeping it to myself was negatively affecting my mental well-being. Sharing it can't cause more harm than keeping it inside." He also mentioned that during their therapy sessions as a couple, Hill often took responsibility for his actions.
Brady also claimed that Hill accused her of having poor boundaries in her relationships with other men, a claim she vehemently refuted on her social media thread.

Neither the Don't Look Up star nor Brady have confirmed the date of their breakup. However, in August 2022, he began a relationship with Olivia Millar. Last month, news emerged that Hill and Millar had discreetly become parents for the first time. Although Hill and his partner have not explicitly addressed their new status as parents, Brady expressed his wish for them to have a baby girl.
Brady expressed her desire for her ex to have a daughter as she believed it could potentially transform him into a genuine feminist. She found it amusing that he currently identified as a feminist, considering his past actions. Ultimately, her wish for him was to be in the company of feminist individuals who could guide him towards personal growth, as he had expressed a desire to do so. Additionally, she believed that fame could lead individuals to be surrounded by like-minded individuals, which could enable emotionally abusive behavior.
Brady's conclusion suggests that being an emotionally abusive partner does not inherently make someone a terrible person. Instead, it often arises from their personal trauma. However, it is important to note that this does not justify or condone such behavior.
