According to Savannah and Chase Chrisley, Julie Chrisley's prison houses reptilian inmates. On their "Unlocked" podcast episode on Tuesday, July 25, Savannah, 25, claimed that her mother has rattlesnakes casually slithering on the floor. However, Chase, 27, corrected his sister, stating that the reptiles are actually a different kind of poisonous snakes.
According to Savannah, the snakes were positioned directly near her bed. Chase stated that the prison staff informed him that the sole solution to capture the snakes was to "mace" them. However, when dealing with a venomous snake, it is recommended to contact animal control or utilize a snake trap, as advised by AZ Animals.
Apart from the reptiles, the siblings further alleged that both Julie (50) and their father, Todd Chrisley, lacked air conditioning in their respective prisons.
Todd, aged 54, began serving his 12-year sentence in Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, located in Pensacola, Florida, in January. Julie, on the other hand, is serving her seven-year sentence at the Federal Medical Center situated in Lexington, Kentucky. The couple was convicted in June 2022 on charges of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy.
Chase expressed his discontent, stating, "Regardless of the severity of the offense committed, individuals housed in government facilities should have access to air conditioning. The current situation is simply unacceptable."

In addition to the uncomfortable room temperature, Savannah emphasized that their parents' prisons had far more serious issues. Apart from the presence of snakes, she mentioned the alarming existence of black mold, asbestos, and lead-based paint. Chase humorously remarked, "This isn't Fear Factor."
"Chase, it's a prison," she replied sharply. "We can't ignore the fact that it shouldn't be luxurious like the Four Seasons."
Chase recognizes that prisons should not offer the same luxuries as a high-end hotel, but his main concern is for his parents' safety.
Savannah expressed, "Since it's a prison, people are often unsympathetic towards it. However, when your loved one is subjected to extreme heat and suffers from heat strokes, or when they are not provided with proper nourishment, it becomes an appalling situation to witness."
Todd and Julie are currently dealing with the alleged "inhumane conditions," but Savannah and Chase firmly believe that their parents will overcome this challenge. They believe that their parents are resilient and are capable of handling the situation, as they have been managing well with what they have been given. Chase expressed his confidence, stating, "Our parents are incredibly strong individuals. They are not meant to be broken, and this obstacle surely won't break them."
Savannah also claimed her parents are continuing to maintain their innocence and have obtained “new legal counsel” as Todd and Julie seek to appeal their conviction.
