Rafael Benitez has been announced as the new manager of Celta Vigo, as confirmed by the Spanish club. An "agreement in principle" has been reached for Benitez, the former boss of Liverpool, Newcastle, and Real Madrid, to assume his role at the Balaidos Stadium from the beginning of pre-season training in July.

Benitez, 63, has been out of management since he was sacked by Everton in January last year.
