Shay Mitchell is thrilled to be hosting her very first travel and culinary show called Thirst With Shay Mitchell. The show can now be streamed on Max, where viewers can join Mitchell, 37, as she travels the world and enjoys the latest drink trends in South America. Mitchell shared with We that her show was born out of her curiosity and passion for adventure. She loves the idea of delving deeper into cultures, history, and human connections through the lens of beverages.
Mitchell shared with Us that you can gain insights into a culture by exploring the beverages they enjoy alongside their food. She mentioned that her curiosity drove her to create a show focused on the drinks that complement meals, as opposed to the many existing food-centric shows.
She also pointed out that this series offers a unique experience compared to her previous roles on scripted shows such as Pretty Little Liars and You.
"It's both thrilling and a bit scary," she shared. "I'm not pretending to be someone else. I'm truly being myself, and this is something I deeply care about in a new light."
During a four-week period, Mitchell traveled to various countries such as Argentina and Brazil, enjoying potato wine in Peru and espresso and beer in Colombia with the locals. She mentioned that it was the unexpected moments that stood out and added to the unforgettable experiences on her bucket list.

"We would land, scout, and shoot. Even on days designated for scouting, I found myself shooting a lot of scenes that were not initially planned," she explained. "Some of my favorite scenes were actually spontaneous. My coproducer and I just grabbed an iPhone and shot some footage. It was a bit wild, but I learned a lot from this experience!"
Although season 1 is currently airing, Mitchell is already envisioning a return for season 2.
"I would be thrilled to film more seasons of the show," she expressed. "There are endless possibilities for new locations to explore. I have my eyes set on season 2, possibly in Asia. That's my wishful thinking."
Mitchell shared her excitement about discovering new places she hasn't even heard of yet. She remarked, "I am eager to see where the show takes us in season 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10."

She expressed her desire to have her former PLL costar Ashley Benson join her on the show. Mitchell referred to Benson, who is 34 years old, as her trusted friend to grab a drink with.
Mitchell mentioned that she and Benson, who she describes as an amazing mom, now have children in the picture. Benson shared a photo of her baby with husband Brandon Davis in February. Meanwhile, Mitchell welcomed daughters Atlas and Rome in 2019 and 2022 with Matte Babel.
