Exeter caused a major upset in the Premier League by defeating Luton to secure a spot in the Carabao Cup fourth round for the first time in 34 years. Meanwhile, Ipswich made a remarkable comeback from being 2-0 down to shock Wolves. In the 83rd minute, Dmitri Mitchell's powerful shot from inside Luton's penalty area, after dispossessing a defender, sealed Exeter's historic victory and set them up for their first appearance in the fourth round since 1989.

The game ended in a bittersweet fashion for the goalscorer as he received a second yellow card in the final moments for bringing down Issa Kabore, resulting in his dismissal.

In a remarkable turnaround, Ipswich secured a 3-2 victory over Premier League Wolves at Portman Road, with Jack Taylor's extraordinary winning goal sealing the triumph.

Wolves had a comfortable lead within 15 minutes with early goals from Hee-Chan Hwang and Toti. However, Ipswich managed to equalize before halftime thanks to goals from Omari Hutchinson and Freddie Ladapo, the latter resulting from a mistake by goalkeeper Dan Bentley.

The decisive moment came two minutes before the 60-minute mark, when Taylor took control of the ball and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards out, securing the victory for Wolves in impressive fashion.

Burnley cruised into the next round by securing a comfortable 4-0 win against Salford City, who play in League Two. Sander Berge showcased his strength by heading the ball into the net to open the scoring, while Jacob Bruun Larsen skillfully chipped the goalkeeper after receiving a delightful pass from Anass Zaroury.

Dara O'Shea scored from a short distance, adding a third goal within 27 minutes. To conclude a successful evening for Vincent Kompany's team, Wilson Odobert powerfully struck in a late fourth goal. Despite their initial struggles in the league, Championship Middlesbrough easily defeated League Two Bradford 2-0 at Valley Parade.

Boro were determined to maintain the momentum gained from their previous league triumph against Southampton over the weekend. Dominating the first half, they sealed their superiority with Emmanuel Latte Lath's goal in the middle of the game.

Despite being from a superior league, the away team demonstrated their superiority in the second half, as Morgan Rogers ensured a comfortable away victory for them.

Mansfield Town, a League Two team, caused an upset by defeating Peterborough United in a 3-1 penalty shootout. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The hosts took an early lead with Will Swan converting a penalty after being fouled inside the box. However, the League One visitors, Peterborough United, equalized before halftime thanks to Jonson Clarke-Harris' 25-yard free-kick.

Peterborough took the lead just two minutes into the second half with a straightforward tap-in goal. However, Mansfield managed to equalize in the 93rd minute through Lucas Akins' successful penalty conversion, leading the match to a shootout. Posh missed three out of their four spot-kicks, while Mansfield goalkeeper Christy Pym saved two. In the end, Davis Keillor-Dunn secured victory for Mansfield by calmly rolling in the winning penalty.

Port Vale secured their spot in the next round with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Sutton United, courtesy of a magnificent goal by substitute Funso Ojo. Despite being the underdogs, Sutton displayed resilience as Hisham Kasimu brilliantly equalized with a sublime strike using the outside of his left foot, shortly after Joshua Thomas had given Port Vale the lead in the early stages of the second half.

But Ojo, on the pitch for only two minutes, rifled an effort into the bottom right corner from outside the area to settle the tie.
