Saving Disney Dreamlight Valley: Expert Tips to Extinguish Forgotten Lands Fires

Since the launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley, players have been encountering green flames scattered across the Forgotten Lands. With the fifth major update, players can now finally extinguish the flames and access the chests they had engulfed. However, before players can put out the fires, they need to gather the necessary ingredients and follow instructions from the Fairy Godmother and Merlin.

Players need to first complete the quest that grants them access to Fairy Godmother in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Once that is done, they must work towards increasing her Friendship Level to 2 to unlock her initial Friendship quest, called 'Fire Alarm'.

Listen to the Fairy Godmother and Merlin

Assist the Fairy Godmother in her quest to extinguish the fires by creating a powerful enchantment. However, before beginning the task, seek the guidance of Merlin. Locate their whereabouts on the map and witness their conversation to progress in the game. As the enchantment involves Dreamlight magic, players must gather the necessary ingredients to help complete the spell.

Gather the Ingredients

Players need to gather various materials to create the Icy Enchantment, including three Tourmaline, 15 Snowballs, five Dream Shards, five Purple Impatiens, and one Empty Vial. Tourmalines can be mined from rocks in the Sunlit Plateau and the Frosted Heights, while Snowballs can be obtained by destroying ice blocks in the Frosted Heights. Dream Shards are found by digging glowing spots on the ground or by removing Night Thorns. Similarly, Purple Impatiens can only be found in the Forgotten Lands. Lastly, players will need to craft an Empty Vial by gathering Sand and Coal Ore.

How to Put out the Fires

After collecting all the necessary ingredients, head over to the nearest crafting station to create the Icy Enchantment. Make sure to clear some space on the inventory screen for it. Once applied, players will be able to use the Royal Watering Can to extinguish the green flames. The objective at this stage of the quest is to locate and put out five fires. When a flame is put out, players will obtain Glass. Any chest that was previously engulfed in flames will drop either Star Coins or Furniture for players to collect.

Return to the Fairy Godmother

After successfully extinguishing five flames, players are rewarded with gratitude from the Fairy Godmother. However, the quest is far from over as the next step requires transforming the Forgotten Lands into a more hospitable environment. To proceed, players must strategically place 25 paths, four outdoor lighting fixtures, and three seats throughout the area. The type of item placed does not matter, as long as it falls within the three categories listed above. Once completed, players should speak with the Fairy Godmother and follow her to a mysterious growing plant to bring the quest to a close.
