Sasha Pieterse's Desire to Reunite Emily and Alison in 'PLL: Summer School' for a Special Cameo (Exclusive)
In an exclusive interview, Sasha Pieterse expresses her interest in making a guest appearance on 'Pretty Little Liars: Summer School' to bring Alison and Emily back together for a heartwarming reunion.
Sasha Pieterse is open to making a cameo appearance as Alison DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. She believes that this could help address some lingering questions about her character and also pave the way for a reunion between Emily and Alison that fans have been waiting for.
In an exclusive interview with We while promoting her new film, The Image of You, Pieterse expressed her excitement about the idea of a cameo. She mentioned that playing a teacher version of Alison would be fun and could potentially fill in the gaps left by The Perfectionists. Bringing Emily and Alison back together and tying up loose ends could make for a satisfying storyline. Pieterse is definitely on board with the idea.
Pieterse played Queen Bee Ali on all seven seasons of the original series with Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, and Ashley Benson from 2010 to 2017. She also returned for PLL: The Perfectionists, but the show got canceled after one season.
Even though Pieterse was excited to continue Alison's story, there were plot points in the spinoff that didn't align with her understanding of her character. She especially disagreed with the decision for Alison and Emily (played by Mitchell) to get a divorce.
I was really saddened by the news of their divorce," Pieterse shared with Us. In our version of Alison's reality with Shay and I, I believe that Emison is meant to last forever. They have faced many challenges together and I truly believe in their strong connection. As they grow older, I think they will overcome any obstacles that come their way.
Another concern was the absence of Ali and Emily's twin daughters on the show. Pieterse highlighted, "They have two lovely daughters together." It was disappointing not to see Alison bonding with her children showcased on the show, which was a significant aspect that affected me.

Pieterse believes that Ali and Emily "belong together as a unit." She acknowledged that they both needed "therapy" after facing the "trauma and PTSD" from PLL, but she is confident that they would have overcome it in the end.
According to Pieterse, Alison is a strong-willed person who needed to work through her stubbornness, but she is optimistic that they would have eventually found their way. She expressed her belief that the relationship between Ali and Emily is unique and deserves to be cherished.

Pieterse shared with Us that she is excited about the opportunity to revive the Ali and Emily romance. She also expressed her enthusiasm for working with the new cast of PLL: Summer School. The cast includes Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles, and Zaria. Pieterse mentioned that the new series will have a more horror-centric theme, which she finds exciting.
She praised the talent of the new cast members, describing them as incredibly gifted. Pieterse mentioned that she enjoys the fact that Pretty Little Liars is continuing to captivate audiences. She admires the darker tone of the new series and expressed a sense of envy towards it. Pieterse wished that the original series could have explored darker themes. However, she is happy to see a new generation of fans falling in love with PLL all over again. She finds this continuation of the franchise to be very special.
Pieterse may not be appearing on this season of Summer School, but she has a new project called The Image of You that delves into darker material. In the film, Pieterse portrays Anna and Zoe, twins who are closely bonded yet polar opposites. Their relationship is tested when Anna begins dating her new boyfriend, Nick (Parker Young).
Pieterse believes that fans who loved her as Alison on PLL will also enjoy watching her bring Anna and Zoe to life in The Image of You.
"I feel like Alison is a part of my subconscious when I portray characters like Zoe," she shared with Us. "After playing a similar character for a long time, I see Zoe as the mature version of Ali. If Ali had never changed, Zoe would be the adult version of Ali in her early thirties. It's like seeing what Ali would have become, or maybe stayed as."
