Hannah Brown is excited to bring a mix of humor, romance, and friendship to readers in her debut novel, along with a touch of real-life inspiration.
In an exclusive interview with We, Brown described her novel "Mistakes We Never Made" as a blend of "The Hangover" and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." The story follows Emma and Finn, best friends of a runaway bride, as they embark on a journey to find her. Despite their rocky past and differences, they must put aside their issues and work together. The novel explores the possibility of enemies becoming lovers, adding an intriguing twist to the storyline.
Brown has recently written a memoir called God Bless This Mess, where she shares new and intriguing details about her journey as The Bachelorette.
In a recent interview, Brown mentioned how this writing experience differed from her first book. While the first book was challenging because it was deeply personal, this one was more enjoyable as she was able to be more creative. She emphasized the importance of character development in her writing, drawing from her passion as an avid reader turned writer. She believes that creating relatable characters is key to engaging readers, as she herself gets completely absorbed in books to the point of being oblivious to her surroundings. She strives to create stories that captivate and resonate with her audience.

Us had to ask Brown if she would be pulling a Taylor Swift and planting Easter eggs for Bachelor Nation, who have followed her since 2019.
Brown shared that while Mistakes We Never Made is a work of fiction, she did incorporate a few Easter eggs in the story, inspired by her own experiences. She clarified that the book is not based on any personal encounters, but rather on the emotions, doubts, and miscommunications that she has encountered in her life.
After her relationships with Jed Wyatt and Tyler Cameron didn't work out, Brown is now dating Adam Woolard, who she is engaged to. Despite their engagement, they are taking things slow when it comes to wedding planning.
According to Brown, they are still in the early stages of planning. They have a wedding planner, but that's about it. They have been focusing on their relationship and preparing for marriage rather than the wedding itself. However, Brown mentioned that they will soon ramp up the wedding planning process. She feels that it can be all-consuming, especially with other commitments like her new book. She wants to be fully present for all the upcoming celebrations and not rush into the wedding planning just yet.
Brown is inviting book lovers to consider holding their next book club meeting at McAlister’s Deli.
She expressed her excitement about partnering with McAlister’s Deli during National Reading Month to introduce new ‘Choose 2’ menu items inspired by different book genres such as Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, and Romance. Brown mentioned that the limited menu offers a variety of options to cater to different tastes.
One of her personal favorites is the Adventure items, specifically the jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich. She enjoys the bold flavors and the combination of different ingredients in the sandwich. Brown believes that enjoying good food with good friends while discussing a good book is the perfect trifecta.
