Deborah Honig has been named as the inaugural chief customer officer for Samsung UK. Her main responsibility will be to revamp the technology company’s customer experience and enhance its business solutions.

Under her new role at Samsung UK & Ireland, she will lead the development of a customer-centric culture and foster long-term loyalty through personalized relationships, as stated by Samsung president Inha Cho. In addition, she is responsible for driving transformational change in brand communications, partner engagement, and cross-divisional collaboration within the company. Before joining Samsung, Honig worked at McKinsey and Starbucks, and later served as a strategy director at Diageo before becoming the general manager for its European reserve business in 2010.

She spent five years at Amazon working on its physical retail store proposition before joining Nike in 2019 as the direct retail senior director for UK and Ireland, and later becoming the omnichannel leader for the EMEA region. In 2022, she had an eight-month stint at Marks & Spencer as the group strategy and transformation director before leaving. Since then, she has been working as a consultant.

"I have always made it a priority to understand our customers' needs and desires from a brand perspective throughout my career," Honig states. "I am excited to collaborate with the incredible team at Samsung to enhance our customer relationships and support them in maximizing their technology experience with us."

Honig will be collaborating with European CMO Benjamin Braun, recognized as one of Our Website's Top 100 most efficient marketers in 2023.

Samsung's profit warning earlier today (9 January) has led to the news of her appointment. The company anticipates a profit decline of over 33% for the final quarter of 2023.
