Princess Kate's younger brother, James Middleton, and his wife, Alizee Thevenet, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. Middleton, 36, took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 5, to express their excitement. He shared two photos of Thevenet flaunting her baby bump while posing with one of their dogs, adding that their furry family member, Mabel, might be just as thrilled.

The father-to-be expressed, "The beginning of the year was challenging for me with the heartbreaking loss of my beloved Ella. However, we are now ending the year with the most precious and wonderful addition to our expanding family."

Middleton, who got married to Thevenet in 2021, shared the news of Ella, his therapy dog's passing, on Instagram in January.

With deep sorrow, I regret to inform you that my beloved Ella has departed. For a span of 15 years, Ella stood by me through thick and thin, witnessing both my lowest moments and my purest joys. Her absence will be profoundly felt," he shared, acknowledging that his loyal four-legged friend peacefully passed away under his care, succumbing to a brief illness." Middleton has previously opened up about the significant role Ella played in aiding his journey with major depressive disorder.

"I received the diagnosis and initially hesitated to attend therapy sessions," he revealed in a 2020 interview on BBC's Sunday Morning Live. "However, with Ella accompanying me, I gained the confidence to comprehend my mental illness. In fact, I would go as far as to say that Ella is the reason I am alive, although she remains unaware of her impact."

Furthermore, Ella plays a significant role in Middleton and his wife's love story. In 2018, during a visit to the South Kensington Club in Chelsea, London, Ella immediately gravitated towards Thevenet, who was a stranger at the time, while Middleton was present.

"I approached Ella with deep embarrassment, seeking to apologize and retrieve her," the businessman confessed to The Telegraph in March 2021.
